EE55575 CASE# 24-2057 OF COLLISION 02/25/24 07:25 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE 24-2057 On 02/25/2024 at approximately 0736 hours, I was working as a Police Officer for the city of Renton. While I was working, I was dispatched to a blocking collision at the intersection of N 6th St and Logan Ave N, in the City of Renton, WA, the County of King, State of Washington. The incident was captured on my department issued Axon body camera. This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. Statements have been paraphrased and summarized. According to the notes in the call, there was a two-vehicle, non-injury collision. The collision was blocking the center lane. The parties were going to attempt to move the vehicles. One of the vehicles was identified as a white 2019 Toyota Camry sedan (WA LIC# BPF3390). For the duration of this case, this vehicle will be identified as Unit 1. The second vehicle was identified as a red 2008 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck (WA LIC#47829D). For the duration of this case, this vehicle will be identified as Unit 2. 1 arrived on scene around 0739 hours. The collision had taken place in the 500 block of N 6th St. I saw that unit 1 had significant damage to the front end and unit 2 had damage to the passenger side toward the rear of the vehicle. Photos were taken of the vehicles and the scene. The photos were uploaded to evidence.com. I met with the driver of unit 1. She was identified by WADOL photo as Gia L Luong (DOB 09/15/1992). She provided me with her vehicle's registration and her insurance. She told me that she was pulling out of the Boeing employee parking lot on the south side of the roadway. She was going to turn right and travel east along N 6th St. She collided with unit 2 when she didn't see the vehicle already traveling east along N 6th St. Luong stated that she was not hurt. She did not want medical attention. Officer Slinkman was on scene and met with the driver and passenger of unit 2. Both had their identities confirmed by WADOL photo. The driver was identified as Timothy G Hanson (DOB 09/20/1955). The passenger was identified as Ana M Gadea (DOB 08/06/1971). Both occupants of the vehicle are City of Renton employees, and the vehicle was identified as a City of Renton fleet vehicle. Hanson stated that he was not hurt, and Gadea stated that she may see a doctor in the future but did not need medical attention in the moment. Officer Slinkman told me that unit 2 was traveling east along N 6th St. As they passed the Boeing employee parking lot on the south side of the roadway, unit 1 drove out of the driveway without stopping. Unit 1 then collided with the back end of unit 2. The damage to the vehicles was consistent with the statements made by the involved parties. Each party provided the required information and was provided with a business card and the case number. Gene Meyer towing was called to the scene to tow unit 2 up to the City of Renton shops. Unit 1 was able to drive. The driver said she was going to take it to an auto body shop just down the road to get fixed. Based on all the information previously described, 1 developed probable cause to charge the driver of unit 1 Gia L Luong (DOB 09/15/1992) with violation of Renton Municipal code 10-12-25 Inattentive Driving. Luong drove in an inattentive manner when she did not operate her vehicle safely on the roadway. She did not utilize the attentiveness required to see unit 2 as it was traveling along N 6th St. Citation number 4AO269518 was drafted and mailed to Luong.
