This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. Statements have been paraphrased and summarized. * On 04.25.2024, at approximately 1805 hours, I was dispatched to assist with a vehicle collision vs a pedestrian, with unknown injuries, at the intersection of S.2nd ST and Main Ave S.., in the City of Renton, WA, the County of King. I was assigned to uniformed marked patrol in the City of Renton, WA, the County of King. I was operating a fully marked Renton Police Tahoe #204, equipped with "POLICE" markings, overhead exterior lights, and audible siren. I was wearing my department-issued uniform, including a fully equipped duty belt, exterior ballistic vest with "POLICE" stenciled on the front and back and Renton Police badge affixed to the left breast. I was also wearing my department-issued jumpsuit with "POLICE" patches on both shoulders and across the rear shoulders. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person I was a police officer. I was assigned as 3r16. At the time of this incident, it was raining lightly, the roadways were wet, and it was daylight with no streetlights illuminated. The temperature was approximately 50 degrees. Prior to my arrival, dispatch updated the notes in the call with the following: 'PEDESTRIAN CONSC UP AND WALKING, VEH STILL AT LOCH PULLED INTO SIDE PARKING SPACES..NB.' 'PEDESTRIAN THAT WAS HIT IS RP'S CO WORKER...IS CURRENLTY IFO DUBTWON BREWERY SITTING AT TABLE ...PEDESTRIAN WAS LIMPING TO TABLE.SCRAPE ON ARM Renton Fire Authority was dispatched and were on scene prior to my arrival. I arrived on scene at approximately 1807 hours and observed a dark blue in color Hyundai Tucson bearing WA/ BLR3661 (later identified as Unit 01) stopped in the right lane of traffic, facing southbound on Main Ave S. Unit 02's driver, and sole occupant, identified by his WADL as WILSON, BARRY CRAIG (DOB: 06.13.1947) was still on scene and awaiting police contact. I spoke with Wilson, who was shaking, and he stated he was stopped for a solid red traffic signal light on S. 2nd ST, facing westbound, at the intersection with Main Ave S. When the signal light changed to green, Wilson turned left, southbound, onto Main Ave S., and struck the pedestrian, later identified, while he was in the marked crosswalk. I observed the involved vehicle, and there was a small dent in the center of the hood that appeared to be fresh damage. An independent witness was on scene, and she was identified as KODIS-FISHER, Stephanie C. (DOB: 04.13.1976; 2065793135). Kodis-Fisher stated she was inside the DubTown bar, located at S. 2nd ST and Main Ave S., and had a visual of Main Ave S. Kodis-Fisher observed the pedestrian walking west to eastbound, in the marked crosswalk, when he was struck by Unit 01. The pedestrian flew onto the hood, struck his face/head on the windshield, and then slid off of the vehicle onto the pavement. Kodis-Fisher did not see Unit 01 brake or stop for the pedestrian in the crosswalk. The involved pedestrian was identified by his WADL as BOLLIGER, DANIEL MAXIMILLIAN (DOB: 10.04.1996). Bollinger was evaluated by RFA and did not require medical transport but had obvious redness and bruising to his left cheekbone and complained of pain to his right hip/thigh area as well as his left hip/thigh area and stated he was starting to 'hurt more' as time passed. Bollinger said he was leaving the DubTown bar and was walking from west to east in the marked crosswalk when he was struck by Unit 01. Bollinger said he heard the signal tone saying "walk, walk walk" and believes his signal light was green. WILSON, BARRY CRAIG (DOB: 06.13.1947) was advised he would be cited for striking a pedestrian in a crosswalk. At a later time, I issued citation 4AO014501 for violation of RCW 46.61.235.1. This citation will be mailed via the courts. I advised Bollinger he should probably be evaluated by a medical professional due to the nature of the collision. PAGE 3 OF 5 REPORT NO.
