Question: Plan sheet EL01 (sheet 62 of 87) Construction Note 11, says to re-use existing service conductors for the new service cabinet. The service cabinet is shown as having a 200A main breaker and the Wiring Schedule shows the existing conductors to be #4 wire.Per code, a 200A service should be fed with 3/0 wire. Should the service cabinet main breaker be reduced to suit the existing service wire size? If not, please provide the distance/location of the power source to be able to properly bid the new 3/0 wire needed to feed the new service. Answer: The City acknowledges that construction notes on the electrical sheets indicate “reuse existing power source conductors” for the RRFB. Submitted proposals should be based on these construction notes. Coordination with PSE will be required by the City and Contractor to make this connection during construction. During construction, the City anticipates modification of plan notes to replace the existing electrical feed with 3/0 back to an existing transformer located approximately 250 feet to the west of the proposed pole location. 9. Question: WSDOT recently updated their standards for the pedestrian poles and looks like they’re needing to have breakaways now. Can you advise if these are needed for the (2) PPB posts on sheet EL01 per construction note #8 and the relocated PPB post and PS pole on sheet SG #02 per construction note # 6&11? Answer: The released for bid plan set is specific about the version of the WSDOT standard plans that is used in the design and a copy of the standard plans that is referenced is included in the plan set. As such, new versions of the standard plans would not apply. Standard plan J- 20.11-03 (approved 2019), J-21.10-04 (approved 2014) and J-20.10-05 (approved 2023) will remain the standard plans for the project.
