COMMISSIONER BALLARD. CARRIED.
STAFF COMMENTS
DCAO Rowland shared that we currently have three seats whose terms will expire this
year; we will reach out about interest in reapplying and reappointment. We also have
one vacancy. We will aim to have all filled by the end of the year. The Commission will
review its bylaws next month. Next year we will review Business Plan metrics and do a
refresher for the Equity Lens training.

2025 Legislative Agenda Development Update

COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS
Commissioner Jones shared that he has been volunteering at an asylum seeker camp
and is interested in how the city can prepare for issues like this and how to coordinate
with others in the region.
Commissioner Baddeley mentioned that she had attended some recent business
openings including a new filling station and Crumbl, and has enjoyed visiting and
supporting Renton small businesses.
COMMITTEE CHAIR COMMENTS
Chair Hill wished everyone a happy Latinx Heritage Month and also mentioned the
invitation received for the city's upcoming Filipino American Heritage Month reception
celebration.
Chair Hill also shared that her son attends Renton School District and has been very
impressed with them this school year. She thinks they have a great team supporting
her son, and mentioned her support for their free lunch program.
