HomeMy WebLinkAboutRFQ Details - Branding and Website DevelopmentRequest for Qualifications (RFQ) for Branding and Website Development Consultant Introduction The City of Renton, in support of the City’s Renton Community Marketing Campaign (RCMC), is seeking a qualified consultant to refresh the Visit Renton brand and redesign visitrentonwa.com. The consultant will be responsible for creating a cohesive brand identity and developing a dynamic, user-friendly website that reflects Renton's unique character as a thriving residential and tourism destination. The objective of this project is to revitalize the Visit Renton brand so it resonates with residents, visitors, businesses, and other stakeholders, while also enhancing Renton’s digital presence through an engaging website that highlights all the city’s culture, businesses, and events. Background The City of Renton is advancing a comprehensive marketing campaign to position the city as a premier destination for residents and visitors. Initial efforts have provided a strong foundation, identifying key content themes, target audiences, and communication channels, with a focus on Renton's diversity, local businesses, and unique attractions. This phase of the project aims to refresh the Visit Renton brand and redesign visitrentonwa.com to better reflect Renton’s dynamic identity and promote the city as an attractive destination for tourism, business, and residency. Scope of Work The consultant will be responsible for the following: 1. Brand Refresh and Visual Identity o Refresh the Visit Renton brand to reflect the city’s community, history, and future growth. o Design a new logo for the Visit Renton brand that works across both print and digital platforms, ensuring accessibility and versatility. o Ensure the refreshed brand resonates with a diverse audience, including tourists, residents, and businesses. 2. Website Redesign (visitrentonwa.com) o Develop a modern, engaging, and accessible redesign of visitrentonwa.com to serve as the hub for the Renton Community Marketing Campaign. o Integrate the new Visit Renton brand identity into the website design for a consistent look and feel across all digital channels. o Ensure the website showcases key content areas, including travel guides, local business features, event listings, and community stories. Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Branding and Website Development Consultant o Create a dynamic community calendar to showcase local events, making it easy for residents and visitors to stay informed about what's happening in Renton. 3. Collaborative Approach o Work closely with the Renton Community Marketing Campaign Partners Group to ensure the brand refresh and website align with stakeholder priorities. o Incorporate input from community members and campaign partners into the final brand and campaign strategy. Qualifications The ideal consultant will demonstrate: • Proven experience in brand development, particularly for municipalities, tourism, or community marketing campaigns. • A strong portfolio of logo design and visual identity projects. • Expertise in designing accessible, user-friendly websites. Project Timeline The goal is to finalize the Visit Renton brand refresh and launch the redesigned visitrentonwa.com by the end of 2024, with the following key milestones: • Branding Finalized: Q4 2024 • Website Design Drafts: Q4 2024 • Final Website Launch: Q1 2025 Budget Approximately $75,000 is allocated for this phase of the project, covering both the Visit Renton brand refresh and website redesign. The consultant is expected to work within this budget. Submission Requirements Interested consultants should submit the following: 1. All submissions must be provided electronically via e-mail. 2. A cover letter summarizing relevant qualifications and experience. 3. A portfolio showcasing branding and website design work. 4. A detailed project approach and timeline, including key milestones. 5. A budget breakdown for branding, website development, and stakeholder engagement. 6. References from clients with similar project scopes.
