THIS PROJECT IS COMPRISED PRIMARILY OF THE FOLLOWING MAINTENANCE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE EXISTING HENRY MOSES
AQUATIC CENTER LOCATED AT 1719 MAPLE VALLEY HIGHWAY IN RENTON, WASHINGTON 98057:
POOL LINER
IN KIND REPLACEMENT OF THE EXISTING LEISURE AND WAVE POOL PLASTER LINER WHICH IS SHOWING SIGNS OF FAILING IN AREAS.
ADDITIONALLY, THE WATERLINE TILE HAS FAILED IN SOME AREAS AND WILL ALSO BE REPLACED IN KIND AT THE SAME TIME.
SPLASH PAD
THE CENTER'S EXISTING SPLASH PAD LOCATED NEAR THE FACILITY ENTRANCE HAS BEEN INOPERABLE FOR MANY YEARS AND IS
LOCATED SUCH THAT EVEN IF REPAIRS WERE MADE TO GET IT WORKING AGAIN, IT WOULD NOT BE DESIRABLE DUE TO SAFETY
CONCERNS AND FOOT TRAFFIC CONGESTION AT THE ENTRY. THE FEATURE IS INSTEAD PLANNED TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED
WITH HARDSCAPE, SEATING, AND A SHADE STRUCTURE.
OFFICE, LIFEGUARD, AND CONCESSIONS BUILDING
IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDE: REPLACEMENT WINDOWS FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE AND FUNCTIONALITY; REPLACEMENT DOORS FOR
BETTER VISIBLITY; REPLACEMENT CASEWORK; SELECT INTERIOR FINISHES; AND MECHANICAL CONDITIONING OF AIR FOR HEATING
AND COOLING.

1. PROVIDE SYSTEM STARTUP, TESTING, ADJUSTMENTS, AND REPORTS TO
MEET MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF WASHINGTON STATE ENERGY CODE -
COMMERCIAL PROVISIONS SECTION C408.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPPORT SYSTEM COMMISSIONING AND SHALL

5. BASIS OF DESIGN: THE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES IN THE BASIS OF
DESIGN AND EQUIPMENT/PRODUCT SCHEDULES ON THESE DRAWINGS
WERE PURPOSELY SELECTED BY THE ENGINEER TO MEET THE OWNER’S
PROGRAMMING REQUIREMENTS AND ARE NOT BEING "SOLE-SOURCED"
BY THE OWNER UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. PRODUCTS FROM OTHER
MANUFACTURERS WITH EQUAL SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS, EQUAL

USED TO BID AND CONSTRUCT THE PROJECT. BIDDERS SHALL CONTACT

CONTRACTOR IS AWARDED THE PROJECT WITHOUT OBTAINING

DEADBAND OF AT LEAST 5 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT IN WHICH HEATING

1. PROVIDE SYSTEM STARTUP, TESTING, ADJUSTMENTS, AND REPORTS TO

OWNER DOCUMENTING COMPLIANCE WITH CODE REQUIREMENTS.
5. BASIS OF DESIGN: THE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES IN THE BASIS OF
DESIGN AND EQUIPMENT/PRODUCT SCHEDULES ON THESE DRAWINGS
WERE PURPOSELY SELECTED BY THE ENGINEER TO MEET THE OWNER’S
PROGRAMMING REQUIREMENTS AND ARE NOT BEING "SOLE-SOURCED"
BY THE OWNER UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. PRODUCTS FROM OTHER
MANUFACTURERS WITH EQUAL SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS, EQUAL
QUALITY, EQUAL LEAD TIMES, AND EQUAL MAINTENANCE COSTS MAY BE
USED TO BID AND CONSTRUCT THE PROJECT. BIDDERS SHALL CONTACT
THE ENGINEER OF RECORD DURING THE BID PHASE FOR APPROVAL OF
THE SUBSTITUTION REQUEST ON EACH ITEM. IN THE EVENT A
CONTRACTOR IS AWARDED THE PROJECT WITHOUT OBTAINING
ENGINEER’S APPROVAL OF THE SUBSTITUTION REQUEST DURING THE
BID PHASE, THEN THE CONTRACTOR MAY BE REQUIRED, AT THE
ENGINEER’S OPTION, TO INSTALL THE BASIS OF DESIGN PRODUCTS OR

6. COORDINATE ALL PLUMBING WORK WITH OTHER TRADES TO INSURE
PROPER AND ADEQUATE INTERFACE OF THEIR WORK WITH THE WORK
SHOWN ON THESE DOCUMENTS.
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE COORDINATED SHOP DRAWINGS FOR
APPROVAL PRIOR TO FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION.
8. ALL VALVES, TRAPS, TEST PORTS, CONTROLS, CLEANOUTS, ETC. SHALL
BE LOCATED SO AS TO BE ACCESSIBLE FOR MAINTENANCE,
ADJUSTMENT, & TESTING. PROVIDE ACCESS PANELS FOR ALL
CONCEALED DEVICES. ACCESS PANEL LOCATIONS AND FINISHES SHALL
BE COORDINATED WITH ARCHITECT.
9. ALL PIPING EXPOSED IN UTILITY SPACES OR SIMILAR AREAS SHALL BE
PAINTED. COORDINATE PAINTING REQUIREMENTS & FINISHES WITH
ARCHITECT.
10. ALL EXPOSED DUCTWORK SHALL BE PAINTED. COORDINATE PAINTING
REQUIREMENTS & FINISHES WITH ARCHITECT.
11. PIPING SHALL BE ROUTED SO AS NOT TO OBSTRUCT ACCESS OR CAUSE
TRIPPING OR OTHER HAZARDS.
12. PIPING SHALL BE ROUTED SO AS TO MAINTAIN CODE-REQUIRED
CLEARANCES FOR ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, ADA ACCESSIBILITY, AS
