Acknowledge receipt of this addendum on “Addenda Received” of the Bid Documents in the Contract Documents. Failure to do so might subject the bidder to disqualification. This addendum shall clarify the Contract Documents as follows: Item No. 1 – Bidder Questions & Responses Memorandum #4 Item No. 2 – Drawing L.02 Correction 1.Plan on Drawing No. L.02 is revised to include Divider Net Structure as shown on S.02. Item No. 3 – Drawing L.04 Correction 1.Divider Net Note #1 on Drawing No. L.04 is revised to: PROVIDE 10FT TOTAL HT, 28FT WIDE DIVIDER NET. Bidder Question: • Since the tennis and pickleball net posts are to be refurbished and Addendum B has added bid line items for 3 nets for ea. Is bid line-item A-26 for the six moveable pickleball nets and paddle racks obsolete or is there to be 6 movable pickleball nets along with the 3 permanent ones? Response • Bid line-item A-26 for the six moveable pickleball nets and paddle racks is not obsolete. The six moveable pickleball nets are in addition to the replacement of the nets and refurbished posts of the 3 existing Tennis Court Nets (bid item A-35) and the 3 existing pickleball Nets (bid item A-36). 2. Bidder Question: • The Divider Net Note 1 says to provide a divider net that is 10’ high and 41’8” long. The divider nets shown on drawings L.02 and S.02 show two nets between the three pickleball courts and the length scales on each drawing to be 30’ long. Please clarify. Response • The net length will be changed to 28ft long. Addendum E will be issued with this specific revision and clarification City of Renton Parks and Recreation Department 11/22/2024 3. Bidder Question • Douglas Sport’s height of the netting is a maximum of 9’. They attach a 1’ high panel by Velcro to the 9’ high panel to create a 10’ net. Response • The total height of the divider net is 10 ft and this height should include a bottom 1 ft net skirt/kick plate. Divider Net Note 1, the Section on S.02, and clarification in the plan on L.02 will be revised and issued in Addendum E. 4. Bidder Question • Douglas Sport could not provide the 10’ net posts as shown on drawing S.02. Is post custom made by a local fence company? Response • Correct. The Divider Net Structure, Post, and Foundation are a custom build. F. CONDITIONS OF PROPOSAL 1. Determination of Low Bidder: a. The City of Renton (alternatively referred to as “Owner” or “City”) reserves the right to award the Contract for the Project based on the Contractor’s Base Bid and any selected Alternates(s), in whatever manner is in the City’s best interest. 2. Overhead and Profit: All of the above Bid Prices shall include overhead, profit, bonds, insurance, and any other expense required to complete the Work. G. PERIOD OF BID VALIDITY/ACCEPTANCE OF BID The undersigned hereby agrees that this Bid shall be a valid and firm offering for the period of sixty (60) days from the Bids Due date. Within sixty (60) days from the Bids Due date, the City will act either to accept the Bid from the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder, or to reject all Bids. The acceptance of a Bid will be evidenced by a written Notice of Intent to Award Contract to the Bidder whose Bid is under consideration for acceptance, together with a request to furnish a bond (if required), evidence of required insurance to execute the Agreement set forth in the Contract Documents, and other designated documents. H. EXECUTION OF CONTRACT If the written Notice of Intent to Award Contract is mailed, telegraphed, or delivered via facsimile to the undersigned within the period of Bid validity noted above, or any time thereafter before this Bid is withdrawn, the undersigned will, within ten (10) days after the date of such notification, execute the City of Renton Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Contractor where the basis of payment is a Stipulated Sum (“Agreement”) set forth in the Contract Documents. I. TIME FOR COMPLETION Substantial Completion - The undersigned hereby agrees to Substantially Complete all the Work under the Base Bid (and accepted Alternates) no later than May 23, 2025, following Notice to Proceed. Notice to Proceed – Anticipated date for Notice to Proceed is January 6, 2025. Final Completion – All the Work shall achieve Final Completion in accordance with the Contract Documents within 30 calendar days after the date of Substantial Completion. J. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES The undersigned agrees to pay the Owner as liquidated damages the sum of $750.00 for each calendar day beyond the date upon which Substantial Completion of the entire Work is required to be complete until Substantial Completion is achieved, in accordance with the Contract Documents.
