TRANSPORTATION EXPANSION
CONSTRUCTION MITIGATION DESCRIPTION
LAND USE (CUP)
Construction Mitigation Description
The proposed transportation expansion project located at 420 Park Ave N in Renton is planning to redevelop two parcels
(parcel #7224000675 and #7224000676) in the NW corner of the site, previously occupied by two buildings, pavement, and
landscaping, and constructing 45 new parking stalls, which includes 12 stalls that will be used for school district fleet vehicles.
The following is a summary of how the construction of the additional parking stalls is anticipated to be managed to comply
with local City of Renton regulations.
Construction Schedule
Clearing and Grading and Construction of proposed parking lot is anticipated to Start in June 2025 with substantial
completion around September 2025.
Hours and Days of Operation
Typical hours of construction, as allowed by the City of Renton, will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the typical work week being
Monday through Friday. It is understood that construction during summer months can be extended to 8 p.m., and once a
contractor is under contract with the Renton School District, actual hours of operation will be communicated with the
City/Inspector.
Proposed Hauling/Transportation Routes
The haul route for importing and exporting materials to and from the site will be determined once a contractor is under
contract with the Renton School District and will be coordinated with the City/Inspector before the start of construction. A
possible haul route may include Park Ave N to N 5th Street to Garden Ave N to N 3rd Street to I-5 depending on materials to be
hauled. Another possible haul route could be N 5th Street to Park Ave N to N 3rd Street to I-5.
Measures to be Implemented to Minimize Dust, Traffic and Transportation Impacts,
Erosion, Mud, Noise, and other Noxious Characteristics
Temporary erosion and sedimentation control (TESC) measures required by the City of Renton will be implemented and
maintained (silt fencing, interceptor swales and rock check dams, temporary sediment trap, sediment settlement tank, and
hydroseeding). It is anticipated that a Certified Erosion Control Lead (CESCL) will be provided by the General Contractor, who
will maintain and supplement TESC BMPs as required to keep the site and public City streets clean.
Any Special Hours Proposed for Construction or Hauling ( i.e., weekends, late nights)
Once a contractor is under contract with the Renton School District, the contractor will coordinate with the City of Renton
and/or Inspector for additional hours for hauling, if needed.
Preliminary Traffic Control Plan
The project has not yet prepared a Preliminary Traffic Control Plan. Once a contractor is under contract with the Renton
School District and the haul routes have been determined and approved by the City of Renton, a traffic control plan will be
prepared in accordance with Renton Standards. Frontage improvements in the right-of-way along N 5th Street and Park Ave
N will be limited to removal of existing driveways and replacing with the construction of curb, gutter, and sidewalk.
