EF54584 CASE# 25-182 OF COLLISION 01/06/25 12:43 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE On January 6, 2025, approximately 1243 hours, I was dispatched to a blocking vehicle collision at 2431 Maple Valley Hwy, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. Upon my arrival, I observed heavy mechanism to the involved vehicles with airbag deployment as well as both of the involved parties complaining of pain. The Renton Regional Fire Authority (RRFA) responded to the scene for evaluation. While on scene, I collected each of the involved party's driving information and their independent recollection of the events leading up to the collision. The driver of Unit 1 stated she was the sole occupant of her vehicle and was attempting to exit a private property parking lot, located at 2431 Maple Valley Hwy, and on the south side of the roadway. The driver of Unit 1 stated that she was intending to make a left turn out of the parking lot to proceed westbound onto Maple Valley Hwy following the turn. The driver of Unit 1 stated that she checked eastbound traffic but did not see anyone. The driver of Unit 1 believed all eastbound traffic on Maple Valley Hwy was clear and therefore proceeded out into the roadway. As Unit 1 entered the number 1 through lane, Unit 1 was met by another vehicle - Unit 2. The driver of Unit 1 stated that he was unable to avoid the collision after having pulled out into the roadway and that Unit 2 struck the front of Unit 1, specifically on the driver's door, causing severe damage. The driver of unit 2 was transported to Valley Medical Center for a possible leg injury. Later, I spoke with the driver of Unit 2. She stated she was traveling eastbound in about the 2400 block of Maple Valley Hwy and in lane 1 of 2. The driver of Unit 2 stated she intended to continue east on Maple Valley Hwy. Upon reaching the location of where Unit 1 was turning out from, Unit 2 observed Unit 1 pull out into the roadway, but she was unable to avoid the collision. Both vehicles collided in the roadway and Unit 2 suffered severe damage to the front bumper. Based on the above statements, 1 believe that the driver of Unit 1 is the proximate cause for the cause of collision as driver is required to comply with RCW 46.61.205(1) which states that every driver of a vehicle about to enter or cross a highway from a private road or driveway shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles lawfully approaching on said highway. Unit 2 was already underway in the roadway and had right of way. I gave the driver of Unit 1 a verbal warning for failing to yield the right-of-way. Both Unit 1 and Unit 2 sustained severe damage so therefor Banker Towing arrived and removed the vehicles. An exchange of information was provided to all involved parties. PAGE 3 OF 4 REPORT NO.
