SUMMARY The overgrown Cottonwood has multiple stems, with severe bark inclusion and signs of early decline. Damage potential is high and several targets are constant OBSERVATIONS The above address is split into 2 parcels; 1623059128 and 1623059052. The tree is planted on 1623059128 with the canopy overhanging 1623059052. These two parcels make up a lot currently used by a tire shop. The shop has several storage boxes that are within range and could be damaged by the tree in the likelihood of branch, or full tree failure. TREE Black Cottonwood Populus trichocarpa 46” multi-stem Although these 2 stems bifurcate just below 4.5’ above grade, the stems don’t separate until approximately 7-8’ above grade. Meaning that there is approximately 3.5-4’ of bark inclusion. Mild decline was observed in the exterior crown. Several dead branches were found on the outer canopy, likely this tree is out-grown it’s ability to pull water toward the upper crown. These two factors, in combination with an already weak species of tree, makes this tree a hazard to nearby structures, as well as employees and potential customers of the tire shop. RECOMMENDATIONS I recommend removing the Black Cottonwood referenced above. SITE PLAN
