On 01-18-2025 at approximately 1803 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run collision that occurred near the Hop In Grocery(5321 NE 4th St).The victim/reporting party, Nelida, had followed the suspect eastbound on NE 4th St but then went home for contact. I arrived at Nelida's home at approximately 1815 hours. Nelida was driving unit 2 northbound through the parking lot of the dispatch address and intended on turning eastbound from the parking lot onto NE 4th St. She stated unit 1 drove up next to her passenger side, struck her vehicle, and passed her also turning eastbound onto NE 4th St. She followed unit 1 until the vehicle turned southbound onto Patriot Way and then she returned home. Her thirteen-year-old son,verbally identified as Evander, was in the front passenger seat and provided the following description of the driver:white male, approximately 50-60 years of age, graying/balding hair, and wearing a blue collared shirt. Nelida provided unit 1's license plate at the time of her 911 call.The registered owner of unit 1 is John who resides near Patriot Way. Ofc Hsu and 1 relocated to John's address. Ofc Hsu arrived before I did and spoke to John.John admitted being involved in the collision but didn't call 911 as the damage was minor. He was also concerned for his welfare as unit 2 was following him from the collision scene.John provided his insurance information and was cooperative with police. Involved parties were identified by their WA DOL images. Both units sustained minor cosmetic scratches and were in operable condition. No one involved complained of any injury. Images of both vehicles were uploaded to evidence.com. No citations were issued in this incident. During this incident I was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
