Narrative
During this incident, )was equipped with a body-worn camera, which records both audio and video. Portions
of this incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not intended to be an
exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured with the recording system.
was operating a fully marked Police Tahoe#320 which was equipped with overhead emergency lights and
sirens.
Case Number 25-656
On 01/20/2025 at approximately 1935 hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury motor vehicle collision near the
intersection of SW Grady Way and Oakesdale Ave SW, within the City of Renton, King County, Washington.
I identified Unit 1 in this collision as a 2003 Honda Accord (WA/Lic: CFU0442 Vin#1HGCM72613A017577). The
driver and sole occupant of unit 1 was identified as Rodolfo Mauricio Linares (DOB 01/15/1967). Unit 1
sustained very minor damage to the front bumper and was able to leave under its own power. Rodolfo did not
report any injuries.
I identified Unit 2 in this collision as a 2014 Kia Sedona (WA/Lic: BXE4623 Vin#KNDMG4C77E6579389).The
driver and sole occupant of unit 2 was identified as Kenneth G James (DOB 02/06/1983). Unit 2 sustained
minor damage to the passenger side and was able to leave under its own power. Kenneth did not report any
injuries.
Unit 1 advised that he was traveling southbound on Oakesdale Ave SW, preparing to turn right to travel
westbound on SW Grady Way. Unit 1 advised that he had a green light.
Unit 2 advised that he was traveling northbound on Oakesdale Ave SW, preparing to turn left to travel
westbound on SW Grady Way. Unit 2 stated that he was in the right-hand left turn lane to make this turn and
also believed he had a green light.
Both parties believe that the other half ran a redlight which caused the front of unit 1 to collide with the
passenger side of unit 2.
The damage is consistent with what both parties reported and with no independent witnesses or actually
being on scene I am unable to determine what the proximate cause of this collision was.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.
