On 01-24-2025 at approximately 1555 hours, I was dispatched to a two vehicle non injury collision in the
13800 block of Maple Valley HWY, in the City of Renton, County of King.
Dispatch stated there was a dispute between the involved parties.
I arrived and spoke with the driver of Unit 2 who identified herself with a WA State license as Lisa D. Halibi.
She was driving a black Ford Thunderbird license CBV0375, which had minor damage to the front passenger
side fender. The damage appeared to be mostly paint transfer. Halibi conveyed the following verbally. While
making a right lane change NB on Maple Valley HWY Unit 1 sped up to go around her and when he returned to
the lane of travel, he hit the front passenger side of her car.
I spoke with the driver of Unit 1, and he identified himself as Joaquin Abad with a WA State license. He was
driving a maroon Hyundai Elantra license CKF473,which had minor damage to the driver side rear door and
fender. Abad conveyed the following to me verbally. While driving NB on Maple Valley HWY he saw Unit 2
make a right lane change into his lane, so he swerved over the fog line as she collided with his vehicle.
Due to conflicting information from both involved parties and no independent witnesses I was not able to
determine the proximate cause of the collision. Abad said the collision was recorded on his dash camera. I
gave him my business card and asked him to email a copy of the video to assist with the investigation.
