Narrative
During this incident, I was equipped with a body-worn camera, which records both audio and video. Portions
of this incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not intended to be an
exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured with the recording system.
was operating a fully marked Police Tahoe#320 which was equipped with overhead emergency lights and
sirens.
Case Number 25-847
On 01/26/2025 at approximately 2119 hours, I was dispatched to a collision that occurred in the 700 block of S
Grady Way, within the City of Renton, King County, Washington.
I identified unit 1 in this collision as a 2014 Ford Edge (WA/Lic: AXF0381 Vin#2FMDK3JC4EBA86808).The
driver and sole occupant of unit 1 was identified as Dylan B Caron (DOB 02/05/2005). Unit 1 had very minor
damage to the front bumper and was able to leave under its own power, Dylan did not report any injuries.
I identified unit 2 in this collision as a 2016 Audi A3 (WA/Lic: CFU0416 Vin#WAUE8GFF7G1028723).The driver
and sole occupant of unit 2 was identified as Erick I Morales (DOB 07/09/2003). Unit 2 sustained very minor
damage to the rear bumper and was able to leave under its own power. Erick advised that he had some
discomfort in his neck but was evaluated and cleared by fire with no apparent injuries.
Both parties reported similar stories. Unit 2 was traveling westbound on S Grady Way preparing to trun left
into 710 S Grady Way, unit 1 was directly behind unit 2. Unit 1 failed to recognize that unit 2 was turning and
failed to stop in time prior to rear ending unit 2.The proximate cause of this collision was either unit 1
following to closely or not paying attention.
