Case Number 25-1099
On 02/04/2025 at approximately 0659 hours, I was dispatched to 1458 Lind Ave SW within the City of Renton,
King County, Washington to a non-injury accident. Dispatch relayed over the radio that they were on the
phone with the involved male who stated that he hit black ice which caused his vehicle to spin out and hit the
sidewalk.The male subject was not injured but the collision caused his air bags to deploy.
On arrival I saw a vehicle identified as a white 2008 Chevrolet Express G2500 WA/LIC B50867U VIN#
1GCGG25C781118142 facing north on Lind Ave SW with its left rear tire on top of the curb. I approached the
vehicle and contacted the driver who standing outside near his vehicle.The male was identified by his WADOL
as Michael Jonathan DOB (11/02/1990). Michael provided me with all the necessary documents and stated
that he was driving southbound on Lind Ave SW when he drove over what he thinks was black ice,which
caused his vehicle to spin and collide with the curb. Michael stopped his vehicle in place and got out of his
vehicle and called police. I noticed that both airbags were deployed inside of Michael's vehicle, I asked Michael
if he was hurt, and he said "no". I then informed Michael that I was going to have Renton Fire come to the
location so that he could get medically evaluated but he refused to be seen by Renton Fire and kept saying
that he was fine. Michael appeared to be physically fine and due to his constant rejection of being evaluated,
Renton Fire was not called.
I examined Michael's vehicle and noticed minor damage to the front right side of the bumper and minor
damage to one of his headlights.The vehicle also had damage on the left side of the vehicle, but Michael said
that the damages were all old. Michale pointed out the curb that he hit and there was barley any damage
done to it. I provided Michael with his documentation and gave him my business card with the case number. I
then called a tow per Michael's request and once Michael's vehicle was towed from the location I cleared the
scene. I decided not to cite Michael because he had all his documentations and because this was an accident
due to the slippery and icy roads.
This concludes my involvement with this case.
