Officer Narrative
Narrative
On 1-21-25 at about 1500 1 arrived on a non-injury non reportable collision at the request of
Officer Chang. Officer Chang was on scene and stated via radio that one of the parties had
requested a supervisor. 1 was in the area, so I stopped by. I contacted Officer Chang and both
drivers in the parking lot. Driver 1 was willing to exchange information, but driver 2 was not
willing to exchange information without driver 1 admitting fault in the collision. This came from
the husband of driver 2. 1 explained to both driver 2 and her husband (via phone).
Driver 1 told me;
• She was pulling into a parking space when the collision occurred.
• She never saw reverse lights from unit 2
• She does not know if you unit 2 ever moved, but a collision did occur.
• She was not injured,
• She was willing to exchange information.
Driver 2 told me;
• She was sitting in her vehicle when unit 1 struck the rear of her vehicle.
• Her car was in park at the time of the collision.
• She was not injured.
• She was willing to exchange information, but she was acting on what her husband had
told her to do.
explained to driver 2 and her husband via phone, that it was not my job to compel driver 1 to
admit fault for the exchange of information to occur. I would facilitate the exchange of
information and that would be it. Both parties provided me DL, vehicle registration and
insurance information. I documented the information and provided the case number and
exchange of information to both parties.
The collision occurred in a parking lot and was deemed otherwise non-reportable.
This incident occurred in the city of Renton, County of King.
