ESC CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE
1. ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL DEVICES SHOWN ON THE PROJECT DRAWINGS SHALL BE
INSTALLED PRIOR TO OR AS THE FIRST STAGE OF SITE PREPARATION.
2. COMMENCE CONSTRUCTION
3. SHOULD DEWATERING OF EXCAVATION BECOME NECESSARY, CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE DEWATERING
PLANT, LABOR AND EQUIPMENT. COORDINATE DEWATERING WITH BOEING CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT,
SITE ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING AND THEIR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER. PROJECT TEAM WILL
COORDINATE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR PROPER WATER MANAGEMENT.
4. UPON COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT, STABILIZE ANY REMAINING DISTURBED AREAS AND REMOVE BMPS
(BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES) IF APPROPRIATE.
5. REMOVE TRAFFIC CONTROL AND REMAINING EROSION CONTROL AND POLLUTION PREVENTION MEASURES
UPON APPROVAL BY BOEING.
EROSION CONTROL NOTES
1. ON -SITE EROSION MEASURES AND STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION SHALL BE THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. ANY PROBLEMS OCCURRING BEFORE FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF THE
STORM SEWER BY THE OWNER SHALL BE CORRECTED BY THE CONTRACTOR.
2. ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL DEVICES SHOWN ON THESE DRAWING SHALL BE INSTALLED
PRIOR TO OR AS THE FIRST STAGE OF THE SITE PREPARATION.
3. SHOULD THE TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL MEASURES AS SHOWN IN THE
DRAWINGS OR SPECIFIED IN THE NOTES NOT PROVE ADEQUATE TO CONTROL EROSION AND
SEDIMENTATION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL STRAW WATTLES, SILT FENCE OR ADDITIONAL
FACILITIES AS NECESSARY TO PROTECT ADJACENT PROPERTIES, SENSITIVE AREAS, NATURAL WATER
COURSES AND/OR STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEMS.
4. ALL NECESSARY FACILITIES SHALL BE MAINTAINED ON -SITE TO PREVENT DEBRIS, DUST, AND MUD FROM
ACCUMULATING ON THE PUBLIC RIGHT -OF-WAY AND BOEING PROPERTY.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE SITES'S CONSTRUCTION
STORMWATER GENERAL PERMIT OR FOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS LESS THAN AN ACRE THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE SITE'S INDUSTRIAL STORMWATER
GENERAL PERMIT.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH BOEING SITE ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING ON WHO WILL
OBTAIN ANY REQUIRED STORMWATER SAMPLES.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLETE AN EROSION CONTROL CHECKLIST, CAREFULLY REVIEW, AND
MAINTAIN ALL STORMWATER POLLUTION PREVENTION MEASURES DAILY. CHECKLISTS SHALL BE
MAINTAINED ONSITE AND BE AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW AT ANY TIME.
STOCKPILED TOPSOIL NOTES
1. STOCKPILES SHALL BE STABILIZED (WITH PLASTIC COVERING OR OTHER APPROVED DEVICE) DAILY
BETWEEN NOVEMBER 1 AND MARCH 31. OUT OF THE WET SEASON, STOCKPILES SHALL BE COVERED FOR
WEEKEND OR OTHER EXTENDED PERIODS OF NON-USE.
2. IN ANY SEASON, SEDIMENT LEACHING FROM STOCKPILES MUST BE PREVENTED.
3. TOPSOIL SHALL NOT BE PLACED WHILE IN FROZEN OR MUDDY CONDITION, WHEN THE SUBGRADE IS
EXCESSIVELY WET, OR WHEN CONDITIONS EXIST THAT MAY OTHERWISE BE DETRIMENTAL TO PROPER
GRADING OR PROPOSED SODDING OR SEEDING.
TRENCH NOTE
1. TRENCH SAFETY IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY. THE PROJECT TEAM AND
BOEING ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY. ALL TRENCH SAFETY SYSTEMS SHALL MEET
THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE WASHINGTON INDUSTRIAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ACT,
CHAPTER 49.17 RCW.
CONCRETE
1. PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE PAVEMENT (PCCP) SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM
COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH AT 28 DAYS OF F'c=4000 PSI.
2. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE CONCRETE MIX DESIGN FOR HIGH EARLY STRENGTH
CONCRETE WHICH MUST HAVE A FLEXURAL STRENGTH OF 650PSI IN 14 DAYS AND
MUST BE OPEN TO TRAFFIC IN 3 DAYS WITH MINIMUM COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF
2500 PSI. IN 28 DAYS, COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH MUST BE 4000 PSI MINIMUM.
3. ALL CONCRETE SHALL CONFORM TO REQUIREMENTS IN THE WSDOT STANDARD
SPECIFICATION SECTION 6-02 UNLESS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE.

CB PROTECTION NOTES
1. CATCH BASIN INSERTS SHALL BE PROVIDED IN THE CATCH BASINS TRIBUTARY TO AREA WHERE
CONTRACTOR'S CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES OCCUR.
2. CATCH BASIN INSERTS SHALL BE INCLUDED ON THE WEEKLY INSPECTION CHECKLIST AND MAINTAINED
FOR THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT.
3. CATCH BASIN INSERTS SHALL BE REMOVED FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION AND
STABILIZATION OF ALL CLEARED AREAS.
POLLUTION PREVENTION NOTES
1. PREVENT OIL AND FUELS FROM ENTERING THE STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM WITH PROPER CONTAINMENT
DEVICES.
2. SWEEP DIRT FROM PAVING DAILY OR AS NEEDED. THE INTENT IS TO PREVENT DIRT AND DEBRIS FROM
VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT FROM BEING DEPOSITED ON BOEING OWNED STREET AND CITY STREET
PAVEMENT.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PREVENT ALL MATERIAL USED OR GENERATED ON -SITE FROM ENTERING THE
STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING ADEQUATE
CONTAINMENT/SEPERATION AT ALL TIMES. ALL STORMWATER POLLUTION PREVENTION MEASURES SHALL
BE COORDINATED WITH ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH APPLICABLE
STORMWATER PERMITS.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONDUCT DAILY STORMWATER/ENVIRONMENTAL INSPECTION OF THE
CONSTRUCTION SITE. SCOPE OF THE INSPECTION WILL BE COORDINATED WITH SITE ENVIRONMENTAL
ENGINEERING.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A TEMPORARY WHEEL WASH AT THE DESIGNATED CONSTRUCTION
ENTRANCE.
UNDERGROUND UTILITY NOTES
1. EXISTING AND ABANDONED UTILITY LOCATIONS SHOWN ON PLANS ARE COMPILED FROM SITE SURVEY
AND AVAILABLE AS -BUILT INFORMATION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DETERMINE THE EXACT LOCATION
OF ALL EXISTING ACTIVE AND ABANDONED UTILITIES BEFORE COMMENCING WORK AND SHALL BE
FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGES THAT HAPPEN DUE TO THE CONTRACTOR'S FAILURE
TO LOCATE EXACTLY AND PRESERVE ANY AND ALL UNDERGROUND UTILITIES.
2. UTILITY ABANDONMENT:
a. WIRES SHALL BE REMOVED FROM ALL ELECTRICAL AND DATA CONDUIT TO BE ABANDONED IN PLACE .
ABOVE GROUND CONDUIT CONNECTIONS SHALL BE REMOVED TO A MINIMUM DEPTH OF 24" PRIOR TO
ABANDONMENT.
b. ALL ABANDONED UNDERGROUND PIPES WITH A DIAMETER OF 8-INCHES OR GREATER SHALL BE
PLUGGED AND FILLED WITH CDF.
3. PROVIDE DETECTABLE UNDERGROUND WARNING TAPE PER WSDOT SPEC SECTION 9-15.18 FOR ALL
NEWLY INSTALLED UNDERGROUND UTILITIES.
4. PROVIDE BRASS UTILITY MARKER FOR ALL EXISTING AND NEWLY INSTALLED UNDERGROUND UTILITIES
WITHIN THE PROJECT LIMITS.
5. ALL UTILITY VAULT STRUCTURES AND ASSOCIATED ACCESS LIDS AND HATCHES SHALL MEET THE
DESIGN LOADING REQUIREMENTS SHOWN ON SHEET GX.
6. THE LIFTING FORCE REQUIRED TO OPEN ACCESS LIDS AND HATCHES SHALL BE A MAXIMUM OF
35-POUNDS. HINGED LIDS AND ACCESS HATCHES SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH A LIFT ASSIST SYSTEM
AS REQUIRED TO MEET THE MAXIMUM LIFTING FORCE REQUIREMENTS.
TRAFFIC NOTE
DO NOT CLOSE OR OBSTRUCT EXISTING TRAFFIC ROUTES WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM
BOEING. COORDINATE LOCATION AND TIMING OF ALL ROADWAY CLOSURES WITH BOEING
PRIOR TO PERFORMING WORK.
PAVEMENT STRIPING AND SIGNAGE NOTES
1. PERMANENT PAVEMENT MARKING SHALL BE PER WSDOT STANDARD SPECIFICATION
SECTION 8-22.
2. SELF-CONTAINED HYDROBLAST SHALL BE USED FOR THE REMOVAL OF ALL PAIN
STRIPING, LETTERS, AND MARKINGS.
