Suspect Driver: UNKNOWN. VICTIM VEHICLE #1: 2010 Toyota Prius bearing WA/ CGJ0425. Damage to front bumper/engine block/undercarriage and combination of airbag deployments. Privately towed by Gene Meyers towing. VICTIM Driver: HOGAN, KATHLEEN RUBY (DOB: 10.10.1977); complained of pain to chest area from seatbelt, denied transport to hospital. PASSENGER: HOGAN, Ashlie; Complained of pain to chest/neck and head area but denied transport to hospital. *This incident was captured on my body worn video camera. This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. Statements have been paraphrased and summarized. * On 06.14.2024, at approximately 1923 hours, I was dispatched to a hit and run, blocking collision with possible injuries that in front of Valley Medical Center's Ambulance Bay, located near 180 S. 43rd ST., in the City of Renton, WA, the County of King. At the time of dispatch, I was assigned to uniformed marked patrol in the City of Renton, WA, the County of King. I was operating a fully marked Renton Police Tahoe #304, equipped with "POLICE" markings, overhead exterior lights, and audible siren. I was wearing my department-issued uniform, including a fully equipped duty belt, exterior ballistic vest with "POLICE" stenciled on the front and back and Renton Police badge affixed to the left breast. I was also wearing my department-issued jumpsuit with "POLICE" patches on both shoulders and across the rear shoulders. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person 1 was a police officer. I was assigned as 6r10 (OIC/Officer in Charge). At the time of this incident, it overcast and had been raining lightly throughout the day. It was approximately 58 degrees, and the roads were wet from previous rainfall. I arrived on scene at approximately 1927 and met with the driver of Unit 02, a black in color 2010 Toyota Prius bearing WA/CGJ0425. Unit 02 had extensive front end damage, a combination of airbag deployments and was inoperable. Unit 02's driver, identified by her WADL as Hogan, Kathleen Ruby (DOB: 10.10.1977) stated she was traveling eastbound on S. 43rd ST, in the left lane of travel when Unit 01, a black in color SUV (UNKNOWN FURTHER) rapidly changed lanes in front of her vehicle and applied the brakes rapidly due to traffic backup resulting from a disabled vehicle in the roadway. Hogan quickly applied her brakes but slid into the rear of Unit 01, who rapidly fled the scene, without attempting to exchange information or check the welfare of Hogan or her daughter, Ashlie, who was the front seat passenger. Unit 02 sustained moderate/significant front-end damage had a combination of airbag deployments and was not operable. Gene Meyers towing impounded the vehicle privately. Unit 01 would have extensive damage to the rear bumper. Unit 01's driver CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED. Renton Fire Authority responded to medically evaluation Hogan and her daughter, who both complained of pain to their chests/head and neck, but they denied transport to the hospital. I provided Hogan with my business card, to include the case number, and left the scene. NO F/U IS WARRANTED ON THIS CASE AS THERE IS VERY LIMITED SUSPECT VEHICLE INFORMATION AND THE SUSPECT DRIVER CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED.
