NARRATIVE
Renton Case #24-6606
On 06/22/2024 at 1324 hours I was dispatched to the intersection of 116th Ave SE/SE 160th St, in the
City of Renton, King County, Washington. I was responding to a call of an unknown injury motor
vehicle collision. This incident was captured on my body worn video camera. This report is a
summation of events that occurred and is not an exact sequence of events.
While en route, dispatch advised the following: Now, 1 motor vehicle into tree, unknown injury. Driver
still inside the vehicle, conscious, injuries, bleeding.
At approximately 1326 hours, I arrived on scene and located Unit 1 vehicle, crashed into a tree at
10615 116th Ave SE. Upon arrival, I immediately contacted Unit 1 driver who was trapped inside the
vehicle. Unit 1 driver was still wearing his seatbelt, had a bloody nose and several deep lacerations to
his hands/arms. Because of the sustained vehicle damage as a result of the collision, 1 was not able
to open the driver door of Unit 1 vehicle.
While speaking with Unit 1 driver, he seemed very disorientated and confused. Unit 1 driver was
conscious and able to speak short sentences. I did not observe any odors of intoxicants and it
appeared as though he was suffering from a medical emergency.
Fire arrived on scene a short time later and began providing aid to Unit 1 driver, while working to
remove him from the vehicle.
While fire worked on getting Unit 1 driver out of the vehicle, Unit 1 drivers significant other, who 1 later
identified by her WA DOL photos as Roberta J Alexander (DOB 04/23/1937), arrived on scene.
Alexander is also the registered owner of Unit 1 vehicle.
In speaking with Alexander, she stated that she and Unit 1 driver had just left the post office, located
at 17200 116th Ave SE, just prior to the collision. Alexander said that while enroute home, she
noticed Unit 1 driver was confused and did not know where he was. Alexander then instructed Unit 1
driver to pull the vehicle over to let her drive. Unit 1 driver then pulled the vehicle over at 116th Ave
SE/SE 163rd St. Once pulled over, Alexander exited the front passenger seat and started to walk
around to the driver side of the vehicle. Once out of the vehicle, Unit 1 driver abruptly continued
driving northbound on 116th Ave SE, eventually crashing into a tree. Alexander stated that she
believed Unit 1 was suffering from an apparent stroke.
I observed substantial front-end damage to Unit 1 vehicle as the entire front end of the vehicle was
wrapped around a tree.
I took photographs both Unit 1 vehicle and Unit 1 driver at the scene, along with the sustained vehicle
damage. All photos were later uploaded to Axon Evidence.
Unit 1 driver was eventually removed from Unit 1 vehicle and later transported to Harborview Medical
Center by medics on scene.
I provided a courtesy transport to Alexander back to her nearby residence, located at 11918 SE 161 st
St. I provided Alexander with a business card and case number.
Bankers Towing was dispatched and removed Unit 1 from the scene.
In speaking with both Alexander, and responding medics on scene, it appears Unit 1 driver suffered

an apparent medical emergency while driving, causing the collision.
I then cleared the scene.
This ends my report.
I certify under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the foregoing is true
and correct.
