EF44756 CASE# 24-12399 OF DATE AND r�N + 12/02/24 04:40 O�COLLISION NARRATIVE 24-12399 On 12/02/2024 at approximately 0454 hours, I was dispatched to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Renton Ave S and Victoria St SW, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. While enroute dispatch informed me that the driver of one of the vehicles had left the scene on foot headed west on Renton Ave S. Upon my arrival, I observed heavy mechanism to both vehicles. Unit#1 was a silver 2011 Honda Civic LP# CMP6477 VIN 19XFA1 F87BE005085, Unit#2 was a white 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser LP# AXW7068 VIN JT3FJ80W8M0013664. The driver of Unit#2 was still on scene and not injured. I collected the driver of Unit #2's documents for an exchange of information. Since the driver of Unit#1 had left the scene and I did not locate them, I put the registered owner's information of Unit#1 in the exchange of information. The driver of Unit#2 informed me that he was driving eastbound in lane 2 of Renton Ave S approaching Victoria St SW. He said Unit#1 was creeping out into Renton Ave S from Victoria St SW. As Unit#2 got closer Unit#1 suddenly attempted to turn west on Renton Ave S in front of Unit #2. Unit #2 was unable to avoid Unit#1 while it was turning and collided with it and then spun around, crossing the eastbound lanes of Renton Ave S, and the rear of Unit#2 struck the fence of 13238 Renton Ave S damaging it. Unit#1 was in the westbound lanes of Renton Ave S facing north. The driver of Unit#2 said that the driver of Unit #1 exited his vehicle and was standing on the south side of Renton Ave S for a few minutes and appeared to be on his phone. He did not speak to him. The driver of Unit#1 then ran west up Renton Ave S out of sight. The driver of Unit#2 stated he could not identify the driver of Unit #1. Due to the darkness he could only tell he was a male but could not see his face clearly. Based on the above statements, I determine Unit#1 to be the proximate cause for the collision for failing to yield the right of way for oncoming traffic. If the driver of Unit#1 is found and identified there is probable cause to cite them for hit and run attended without injury for leaving the scene of the collision without attempting to exchange information with the other driver. The driver of Unit#2 was given a copy of the exchange of information and had a friend pick them up. Both vehicles had to be towed due to extensive damage by Gene Meyer towing. Unit#1 was impounded for being abandoned and blocking traffic. A tow impound form was given to the driver of the tow truck as he left the scene. Unit#2 was towed at the expense of the driver of Unit#2. 1 certify (or declare) under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the foregoing is true and correct.
