On February 12,2025, at 1011 hours dispatch requested that I respond to a hit and run collision that
occurred at Big 5 Sporting Goods, 601 S Grady Way, in the city of Renton, county of King, and state of
Washington.The reporting party, identified by his WADS as Aaron N. Gattenby(11/24/1990), reported
that an unknown vehicle fled after causing the collision.
Upon contact,Aaron explained he was exiting the parking lot using the designated aisles.As he
approached the traffic signals, another vehicle (unit 1) improperly drove the parking lot and sideswiped
his passenger side fender and bumper. Unit 1 then entered the intersection of S Grady Way and Shattuck
Ave S, but as he proceeded to flee, he decided to turn around and drive south through lot. Unit 1 was
seen going behind Uwajimaya.
Unit 1 was identified as a light blue Toyota Prius bearing an unknown temporary plate on the rear
windshield.The Toyota Prius did have a mismatched colored rear bumper.The rear bumper was black.
The driver was identified as a young juvenile male.
I checked Renton's Flock Cameras, but I was unable to locate a vehicle matching that description for the
Last 12 hours.
At this time, I do not have suspect information, so I provided Aaron with my case number and contact
information.
