EF68042 CASE# 25-1267 OFC LNaoy L isI©ON 02/08/25 20:04 F cu NARRATIVE Case 25-1267 Unless otherwise noted, the following happened within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. On 02/08/25 at approximately 2004 hours, I on viewed an unknown injury and blocking vehicle collision at the intersection of SE Carr Rd and 106th PI SE. The driver of Unit#1 was complaining of pain to the right side of her body. The passenger of Unit#2 was complaining of pain in her right shoulder and the right side of her neck from the seatbelt. I called for Renton Fire Department to come treat both injured parties. All parties were treated at the scene for minor injuries and released. While on scene, I was able to collect each involved party's information and independent summary of the events leading up to the collision. There was a separate accident that occurred in the eastbound lanes of SE Carr Rd between 106 PI SE and 108th Ave SE. My patrol car and another Officer's patrol car had our emergency lights activated and were blocking the eastbound lanes of SE Carr Rd just east of 106th PI SE. The driver of Unit#1 said she was the sole occupant of her vehicle and was stopped at a red light to head north on 106th PI SE. She saw two other cars in front of her turn west onto SE Carr Rd. She said she looked to the left (west) and then proceeded into the intersection. She said Unit#2 came out of nowhere and struck the right side of her vehicle, deploying her airbags. She said that because the police vehicles were blocking traffic that she was able to proceed through the intersection. I confirmed with her that the light was red when she entered the intersection and that no Officer directed her through the intersection. After I confirmed this with her she just wanted an explanation of which lanes of traffic were blocked by police. After I explained it to her she said she realizes she is "at fault". She did not have insurance for the vehicle but her cousin who owns the car does. The driver of Unit#2 was driving westbound on SE Carr Rd with one adult passenger in the front seat. He told me the light at 106th PI SE was green so he proceeded through the intersection. Unit#1 suddenly appeared in the intersection in front of him and Unit#2 collided with Unit#1 in the middle of the intersection. The driver of Unit#1 was the owner of the vehicle and had valid insurance. Unit#1 had significant damage to the both doors on the passenger side and the airbags on the passenger side deployed. Unit#2 had damage to the front grille and hood. Both vehicles were able to move safely off of the roadway before being treated by Renton FD. All parties involved were heading to locations nearby, were cleared to drive their vehicles by Renton FD, and both vehicles drove away from the scene after I completed an information exchange with them. Based on the above statements, 1 determined that the Driver of Unit#1 (Sauda) is the proximate cause for the cause of collision as Sauda did not grant the right of way to traffic already in the intersection when she had a red light. I certify (declare) under penalty of perjury under the laws of the state of Washington that the foregoing is true and correct. Electronically signed by H.
