EF64032 CASE# 25-1258 OF COLLISION 02/08/25 15:12 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE 25-1258 On 02/08/2025 at approximately 1513 hours, I was dispatched to a vehicle collision at the 100 block of Rainier Ave S, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. Unit 1 was an orange 2018 Subaru Crosstrek (BKF3605/WA) VIN/JF2GTAMC7JH312434 driven by Daniela Cruz (DOB 09/08/2000) identified by her WADL. Unit 2 was a black 2012 Audi A4 (CDW6461/WA) VIN/WAUHFAFL7CN018976 driven by Deluan L Patterson (DOB 06/18/1992) identified by his WADL. Upon my arrival the black 2012 Audi A4 (unit 2) was blocking the north bound lane 1 of Rainier Ave S at the intersection of S Tobin St. The Audi had significant front-end damage causing it to be disabled and unmovable. The front-end bumper was missing, and the driver's side front wheel had been bent inwards. The damage was over the $1000 threshold. The Orange Subaru (unit 1) had been able to move into the nearby parking lot. The Subaru had front end damage but was still drivable. Both Daniela Cruz and Deluana Patterson stated similar accounts of the accident. The driver of Unit#1 stated that she had 3 other occupants in her vehicle and that prior to the collision she was traveling south bound in lane 2 closest to center. Unit 2 was traveling north bound in about the 100 block of Rainier Ave S in lane 1. Unit 1 had attempted to turn left onto S Tobin St. Unit 1 struck unit 2 in the front driver's side. Passenger positions as follows: Jorge Cruz Cruz (DOB 08/23/1982) back right, Manuel Luna Cruz (DOB 08/27/1965) back left, Orlanda Cruz Cruz (DOB 05/10/1971) front passenger. The driver of unit 2 was the sole occupant of the vehicle as he was heading north on Rainier Ave S near the 100 block. He didn't have time to stop when Unit 1 turned left through the traffic and struck his vehicle. Unit 1 stated he didn't want to be treated by RRFA but was complaining of pain in his left arm. He said he would take himself to be treated. The front passenger of unit 1, Orlanda, had taken most of the impact but did not wish to be treated by RRFA. Based on the above statements, I determined that the Driver of Unit#1 (Cruz) is the proximate cause for the collision due to not granting the right of way during a left turn causing a collision. The driver of Unit#1 violated RCW 46.61.185(1) by being the driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection and not yielding the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard. The driver of Unit#1 (Cruz) did not grant the right of way to Unit#2 traveling in the roadway which had the right of way and was already underway. Due to Unit#1 having to traverse across oncoming traffic, the driver of Unit#1 must wait until the intersection is clear of hazard prior to proceeding. Deluan had to have his Audi A4 towed due to extensive damage cause. The case number was provided to all involved parties. PAGE 3 OF 5 REPORT NO.
