Case 25-1897
On 2/28/2025, 1 was working as a fully uniformed City of Renton Police Officer in a fully marked
City of Renton Police car as unit#1 R14.
While on duty with my assigned Field Training Officer(FTO) Phillips, I was dispatched to a report
of a hit and run accident at 1707 hours at SW Grady Way and Lind Ave SW.
This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
Statements have been paraphrased and summarized. At the time of this call my body worn
camera was activated.
When I arrived on scene, I observed a blue 2016, Toyota Corolla with WA plate BRJ1805 in the
center turn lane facing eastbound with the front bumper ripped off. I spoke to the victim who
was identified through his WA DOL as Rafael Agas (DOB 07/29/1996).
Rafael stated that he was in the left-hand turn lane a few cars back when a black sedan,
possibly a Chevy Camaro or Dodge Challenger did a U-turn from the eastbound lane across to
the turn lane into the westbound lane, and struck the front bumper of his car, tearing it off.
Rafael stated that he was unable to get a plate off the car and that the driver was a black male,
in his 20's,wearing a red doo rag and a white tank top. Rafael stated the vehicle drove off
westbound and turned into a driveway at 500 Southwest Grady Way and drove behind the
building out of his view. I found that the driveway connected to SW 10th St behind the business.
I observed that there were cameras on the corners of the buildings. I attempted to contact the
business but was unable to, due to the business being closed.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.

Officer Phillips helped Rafael secure his bumper to the front of his car so he was able to drive
off. I provided Rafael with a case number on a business card. Nothing further at this time.
