Narrative
Unless otherwise noted: the following occurred within the City of Renton, County of King,State of
Washington.This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
Statements have been paraphrased and summarized.
On 03/03/2025 at approximately 1846 hours while on duty with my assigned Field Training Officer Castain I
was dispatched to a report of a hit and run that occurred at the Fred Meyer Fuel Center 431 Rainier Ave S.
Upon my arrival I spoke with the victim, Brenda H Cave (DOB 10/21/1945 verified via WADS photo). Brenda
stated that she had been driving eastbound from S 3rd PI and crossing the intersection at Rainier Ave S when a
red sedan headed southbound on Rainier Ave S struck her vehicle. Brenda's vehicle is white 2019 Buick Encore
(WASP CPD0481).The suspect vehicle was described as a red sedan with a spoiler. Both vehicles pulled into
the Fred Meyer Fuel Center. Brenda stated that she observed an Asian male in his 30's exit his vehicle, look at
her,then reentered his vehicle and drove away.
Brenda complained of pain to her right shoulder, right wrist, right hip, and right leg.The fire department was
contacted and arrived on scene to examine Brenda. Brenda was cleared and stated that she intended to go to
Urgent Care tomorrow. I observed significant damage to the passenger's side front wheel well on Brenda's
vehicle. Brenda stated that she did not require a tow.
I spoke with a manager at Fred Meyer who stated that the person who operates the cameras at the gas pumps
is currently unavailable. I left my card and requested that they ask the operator to contact me once they
return to work.
Based on the facts and circumstances of this case, if a suspect is identified,there is probable cause for a felony
violation of RCW 46.52.020(Hit and Run).
Photos were taken and uploaded to the case. As of now,the Fred Meyer security team has not contacted me
regarding the availability of video surveillance footage. I provided the Fred Meyer security team with my
contact information. Brenda was provided with a case number.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.
