HomeMy WebLinkAboutN_Narrative_BogdanTree Removal_01302025Narrative: 1) Describe how you discovered the tree failure. • The tree fell during the strong windstorm around Thanksgiving. I heard a lot of loud noises during the windstorm and the morning after I could see that part of the 30ft Maple Tree fell down. Furthermore, my neighbor shared pictures from his property of how this tree broke his fence, crashed into his roof and created a hole all the way down to the second floor of his house. You can see the damage to the tree, condition of tree and damage it caused to my neighbor’s house in the images and videos I provided. Please see originally provided narrative below. • I am requesting approval to remove the remaining elements of a Maple Tree that fell on my neighbor's house during the recent windstorm. There are dead and dying trunks/branches coming out of the same tree base that collapsed onto my neighbor's house - breaking his fence and causing damage to his roof. The neighbor flagged that he is concerned about the remaining tree falling onto his property and asked if I can have it removed (his email request in the attached PDF as well). Given the damage this tree has already caused and the dead/dying remaining elements of this tree, I believe this is a high-risk tree that poses an imminent threat to my neighbor's house and property and I do not want to be found liable for damages if it comes down in an upcoming storm. Therefore, I am requesting the city's permission for me to remove the tree. 2) Describe how the tree will be removed from the site and any mitigation expected for removal. • Tree will be cut down by a professional company. Tree will be cut into small pieces and left on the property. 3) Provide the tree’s approximate size and type • Maple Tree ~30ft 4) Describe any known critical areas on the site. • Tree is not in the critical area, but please see previously attached image (“tree location” image) that shows where the tree is on the property and what areas of the property the city has deemed a critical area. 5) Approximately how many other trees are on site? What are the approximate size and species of these trees? • There are approximately 42 trees on my property. Unfortunately, I don’t know the exact species of trees. • 1 - 20ft deciduous tree • 20 - 20ft evergreen trees • 7 - 30ft evergreen trees • 1 - 15ft maple tree • 2 - 10ft deciduous trees • 5 - 30ft deciduous trees • 6 - 40-50ft Maple trees
