I appreciate it. Everything looks generally fine in terms of the work around the CRPL pipelines. Standard caveats being we always ask for at least 18” wall-to-wall clearance between our CRPLs and the SD line that you’re replacing. They should pothole our mains at the location of the crossings to ensure grade and separation. DIP for the SD is preferred. If that clearance is an issue, we can go less if need be and use ethafoam if things get close. In terms of the rest of the work, since there is some landscaping and electrical (sheet E1.0) on SPU’s property, SPU/Renton Real Properties looking into the real property rights/requirements here is probably the next step. In short, the single SD crossing should be fine; checking grade and clearances to make sure everything pencils out is the only ask we’d have. I’d assume no heavy equipment staging is happen in SPU’s ROW over the CRPLs; but if there is a need, just discuss and we can run the calcs and see if plates are necessary (given that this is steel pipe and I don’t envision massive equipment here, I think things will be fine). Reach out if you have any questions. Best, Ryan Manning, P.E. Learn why this is important CAUTION: External Email Hello Bob, Joe: Thank you for sending us SPU’s comments on the Renton Market & Piazza project. The City of Renton Community & Economic Development (CED) has developed the attached 80% design plans for the World Cup Legacy Square located at the northwest corner of S 2nd St and Logan Av S. The project includes minor surface improvements with a new 8-inch storm drain within SPU’s Cedar River Pipelines right-of-way (sheet C3.1). The city has a current lease agreement no. 327-815 (18-23-5 SE) with the City of Seattle/SPU that allows us to use the CRPL’s right-of-way for parking purposes and to make necessary improvements within the leased areas subject to SPU’s approval. This project is on a fast-track schedule, and we truly appreciate your help in getting SPU’s review comments on the plans at your earliest convenience. The city project manager is Justin Johnson, and he can be reached at 425-902-7102 or jtjohnson@rentonwa.gov Sincerely, Abdoul Gafour Water Utility Engineering Manager City of Renton Public Works 1055 S Grady Way Renton, WA 98057 425-430-7210 206-406-0027 cell agafour@rentonwa.gov
