On 02/15/2025 at approximately 1811 hours, I was dispatched to an unknown injury accident at the intersection of SW Grady Way and Oakesdale Ave SW. Dispatch advised "LANGUAGE BARRIER* MULTIPLE VEH ACC, LINK INJ, LINK BLOCKING". I arrived at the intersection and observed two vehicles with significant damage in the northwest corner of the intersection. I positioned my patrol vehicle just north of the collision site on Oakesdale Ave SW to assist with traffic control. Briefly observing the vehicles, I observed heavy front-end damage to both vehicles, along with airbag deployment in both. I contacted the driver of the Volkswagon Jetta, identified as Ryan M. Kuebler (09/01/1995) and later identified as Unit 2. Ryan was sitting on the northwest curb with his girlfriend's daughter, identified as Lilith J. Cedeno (02/14/2019). Ryan was the driver and sustained a laceration to the left side of his face along his left eye and eyebrow. Ryan also had blood on the top of his left hand and was complaining of significant pain to his right hand/wrist area. Lilith was emotionally upset and scared but appeared without injury. Later it was determined she sustained seatbelt rash along her right collar bone. RRFA was on scene quickly and evaluated both Ryan and Lilith. Ryan was transported to Valley Medical Center by Trilled. Lilith remained on scene and was taken home by her father after being cleared by RRFA. Lilith was in the rear passenger side of the vehicle in a booster seat that was seat belted. Ryan was in the driver's seat of the vehicle wearing his seat belt. There was airbag deployment in the driver's compartment of the vehicle. Other officers contacted the driver of the Chevy Tahoe, identified as Jesus Ramirez (12/25/1973) and later identified as Unit 1. Jesus was evaluated by RRFA and was relatively uninjured. Jesus had blood around his mouth, but likely due to airbag deployment. Jesus was wearing his seatbelt and was in the driver's seat. No other occupants in the Chevy Tahoe. After gathering information from both parties, I gathered the following: Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on SW Grady Way and was preparing to turn left and head northbound onto Oakesdale Ave SW. Unit 1 was in the left turn lane and had a flashing yellow light, indicating to turn when there was an opening. Unit 1 observed Unit 2 approaching the intersection, but believed he had sufficient time and space to make the turn successfully. Unit 1 attempted his left turn and was struck by Unit 2 in the intersection. Unit 2 was traveling westbound on SW Grady Way with the intention of continuing westbound through the intersection. Unit 2 entered the intersection and struck Unit 1, as Unit 1 was navigating his turn onto Oakesdale Ave SW. Neither party received citations. Gene Meyer's Towing arrived and transported both vehicles. Impound form was completed for Unit 2, as the driver was transported to Valley Medical Center prior to the tow leaving the scene.
