Renton Case#25-2221
On 03/11/2025 at 2049 hours I was dispatched to the 10900 block of SE 172nd St, in the City of Renton, King
County, Washington. I was responding to a call of recent non-injury, hit and run collision. This incident was
captured on my body worn video camera.This report is a summation of events that occurred and is not
an exact sequence of events.
While en route, dispatch advised the following: 9 ago, accident hit and run,white van, GOA northbound
on 108th Ave SE.
At approximately 2053 hours, I arrived and contacted the reporting party/victim (Unit 2), identified by his
WA DL as Mphatso T Namwali (DOB 06/28/1968), at his residence (10930 SE 172nd ST Unit#D204). I
identified Unit 2 vehicle as a gray 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLA Class(WA LIC#CFD4739).
In speaking with Unit 2 driver, he stated that he had been traveling eastbound in the approximate 10900
block of SE 172nd St when he observed Unit 1 vehicle entering the roadway in front of him. Unit 2 driver
said Unit 1 vehicle was moving in reverse as it exited 109th Place SE. Upon observing Unit 1 vehicle, Unit
2 driver came to a complete stop while Unit 1 turned around in front of him. Unit 1 vehicle then
proceeded westbound, passing by Unit 2 vehicle. In trying to fit between Unit 2 vehicle, and vehicles
Legally parked on the side of the road, Unit 1 vehicle made slight contact with Unit 2 vehicle near the rear
passenger side bumper.After contacting Unit 2 vehicle, Unit 1 vehicle then continued northbound on 108
th Ave SE.
In observing Unit 2 vehicle, I observed minor scrapes consistent with the events as described by Unit 2
driver. I took photos of Unit 2 vehicle and later uploaded them to Axon Evidence.
Based on a picture taken by Unit 2 driver, I was able to identify Unit 1 vehicle as a white 2018 Nissan
NV2500(WA LIC#C99376M). In running the plate provided by Unit 2 driver, Unit 1 vehicle was registered
to Performance Modalities Inc out of Kent. Unit 2 driver was unable to provide any description of Unit 1
driver.
I later contacted Performance Modalities Inc via telephone,though at the time of my call,the business
was closed.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.
