Reason for Change:
During the water main connection at STA 15+65 RT, the City utilized the open trench to
remove the gate valve cluster and tee located immediately south of the connection, and
install a new 12 In. gate valve and connect to the live watermain. With the City water crew
already on site, this presented an opportunity to perform the infrastructure adjustments at
the point of connection with reduced impact to the project.
Equitable Adjustment:
This Change Order does include an equitable adjustment per Section 1 09.4 of the 2022
WSDOT/APWA Standard Specifications. See attached.

Question from Russell Owen Pivetta Brothers Construction, Inc. on Friday, Feb 23, 2024 at 11:06 AM PST
Pivetta and City of Renton Water Department had a scheduled water connection at STA 15+65 (Final Connection 3 Detail) per
sheet 139 for night shift of 2/22/2024. During 2/22/24 night shift Pivetta foreman was directed by the City of Renton inspector
and City of Renton Water Department to dig further south than required for City of Renton to make changes to the valve south
of the planned connection. These changes are summarized in the attached email. Pivetta dug further as directed but did not
install any water parts that were not per plan. City of Renton Water Department installed additional parts south of connection
themselves.
Please confirm these changes for the project record and provide clarification on payment for Pivetta's tracked force account
extra work to demo and excavate further south than required for the planned water connection.
