Narrative
Unless otherwise noted: the following occurred within the City of Renton, County of King,State of
Washington.This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
Statements have been paraphrased and summarized.
On 03/12/2025 at approximately 2206 hours while on duty with my assigned Field Training Officer Girello I
was dispatched to a two-vehicle collision with unknown injuries that occurred at the intersection of Rainier
Ave S and S Grady Way.
Upon my arrival another officer observed airbag deployment in Unit 1 and requested the fire department
respond, and all involved parties relocated to 301 S Grady Way.The fire department was requested due to the
passenger of unit 1 complaining of abdominal pain.The passenger is also pregnant.
The driver of unit 1 stated that she had been driving southbound on Rainier Ave S in the center lane behind
unit 2 as both vehicles approached the intersection at Rainier Ave S and S Grady Way. Unit 2 slowed to a stop
when the light turned yellow and unit 1 was unable to stop in time, causing a collision.
The driver of unit 2 stated that he was in the center lane facing southbound at the intersection of Rainier Ave S
and S Grady way when unit 1 rear-ended his vehicle.
The passenger of unit 1 was cleared by the fire department and stated that she would seek treatment later if
needed. No other involved parties reported injury or complained of pain.
Both parties were provided with a case number, and I facilitated an exchange of information. Based on the
statements gathered from both parties,the driver of unit 1 is the proximate cause of the collision.
This concludes my involvement in this case.
