On 03-16-2025 at approximately 2334 hours I responded to Echo Mountain Apartments located at 2223
Benson Rd S in the City of Renton, County of King,State of Washington for a single vehicle collision. A resident
was reporting a red sedan had hopped a curb in front of the leasing office and hit a box.
Upon my arrival, I observed vehicle#1 stopped beyond the parking space, high centered into the grass area in
front of the leasing office. It had struck a power box knocking the box off its base and onto its side.
I spoke with a male subject, identified by his WADOL photo as Adrian Hernandez-Hernandez (DOB
05-02-2006), utilizing a Spanish interpreter. He advised he was the driver and was parking vehicle#1 in the
above listed parking stall. He said the vehicle was in neutral and the parking brake was off when it rolled into
the stall ending up in its current position. He said he thought the brakes were not functioning properly.
Officer Smith spoke with the passenger of vehicle#1, identified by her Honduras ID card as Kenya S
Meza-Garcia (DOB 07-12-2006). Kenya had relayed to Officer Smith that they were pulling into the parking
stall when Adrian mistook the gas for the brakes which caused the vehicle to end up in its current position.
A tow was requested to the scene and ultimately pulled vehicle#1 back out of the grass area and into the stall.
I requested PSE respond to the scene as the power box had wires exposed due to it being knocked off its base.
I had to respond to another call for service prior to PSE arriving.
Photos were taken at the scene.
Neither occupant was injured.
During this incident, I was equipped with a body-worn camera,which records both audio and video.This
report is merely a summary of the incident and is not intended to be an exact transcription of the entire
investigation or what may have been captured with the recording system.
