Narrative
Unless otherwise noted: the following occurred within the City of Renton, County of King,State of
Washington.This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
Statements have been paraphrased and summarized.
On 03/17/2025 at approximately 1730 hours while on duty with my assigned Field Training Officer Girello I
was dispatched to a report of an injury collision that occurred at the intersection of Shattuck Ave S and S 3rd
St. Dispatch noted that the reporting party stated that the other involved party, driving a red Toyota Prius,was
attempting to leave.
Upon my arrival both vehicles were present, and no one was attempting to leave. I observed that the red
Toyota Prius, Unit 1, had preexisting damage.The driver of Unit 2 complained of back pain, so the fire
department arrived on scene to evaluate her. She was cleared at the scene.
The driver of Unit 1 stated that he spoke little English and could not tell me what happened. However, he was
able to exchange information with Unit 2.The driver of Unit 2 stated that she had been stopped at a red light
in lane 1 on S 3rd St at the intersection by Shattuck Ave S. While stopped, Unit 1 rear-ended unit 2. Based on
the information I gathered at the scene, Unit 1 is the proximate cause of the collision.
Both parties were provided with a case number and were able to exchange information.
This concludes my involvement in this case.
