Narrative
During this incident, )was equipped with a body-worn camera, which records both audio and video. Portions
of this incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not intended to be an
exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured with the recording system.
was operating a fully marked Police Tahoe#320 which was equipped with overhead emergency lights and
sirens.
Case Number 25-2453
On 03/18/2025 at approximately 1757 hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury, non-blocking motor vehicle
collision that had occurred at the intersection of SW Sunset Blvd and Rainer Ave S, within the City of Renton,
King County, Washington.
I identified unit 1 in this collision as a 2007 Toyota Prius (WA/Lic: BPX7548 VIN#JTDKB20U473253817),the
driver of unit 1 was identified as Ayan M Ali (DOB 01/01/1986). Unit 1 sustained minor damage to the front
driver's side around the wheel well area. Unit 1 was able to leave under its own power.
I identified unit 2 in this collision as a 2018 Subaru Forrester(WA/Lic: BHA2352 VIN#JF2SJABC5JH421123).The
driver of unit 2 was identified as Eloise M Durant(DOB 08/16/1955). Unit 2 sustained minor damage along the
passenger side and was able to leave under its own power.
Both units were on SW Sunset Blvd and were traveling eastbound through the intersection of Rainier Ave S.
Unit 1 was very persistent to me that unit 2 was in the number one lane (the lane nearest center), which is a
left hand turn only. Unit 1 advised that she was in the number two lane, and that rather than turning left, unit
2 continued straight through the intersection which is what caused the collision.
Unit 2 believed that she was in the number 2 lane while unit 1 was in the number 3 lane. Unit 2 advised that
unit 1 failed to maintain her lane while continuing straight through the intersection which is what caused the
collision.
With no independent witnesses I am unable to determine whose story is accurate therefore I am unable to
determine the proximate cause of this collision.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.
