Case#25-2641
Unless otherwise noted, the following occurred in the City of Renton, County of King,WA.
On 03/24/25 at approximately 0122 hours I was dispatched to a fight in progress at 2725 N
Sunset Blvd. A passerby reported that two men were fighting in the middle of the street in front
of the address. I activated my emergency tights and sirens and began heading northbound on
Benson Rd S from the City Hall parking tot.
While driving northbound on Main Ave S I passed a vehicle in the 500 block. It had moved o er
into the right lane and 1 had moved into the left lane.About 100 yards ahead of me in the left lane
of the 400 block of Main Ave S was another vehicle that appeared to be slowing down. I believed
they were stowing down and applying their brakes because they saw and heard me behind them.
I thought they were going to move over into the right lane.As I got closer I saw that they had
stopped completely in the left lane. I applied my brakes but due to the pavement still being wet
from rain earlier in the night, my brakes locked up and I slid into the vehicle. My front pushbar
struck their rear bumper. After checking my ALPR the vehicle I struck was a 2007 red Toyota
Prius bearing license plate WA/CPU6460 and VIN JTDKB20U877571335. The registered owner is
Mamadou Sylla (01/02/1964).
Right before the collision I heard dispatch air that another RP was reporting that it appeare that
one man was strangling the other man in the street.There was no immediately visible damage to
the Prius that I could see from my vehicle.The driver looked to be a mate wearing a baseball cap
and he did not appear injured. Due to the escalation of the call and the apparent lack of injury to
the other driver, I continued on towards the call location after they moved over into the right
Lane.
After the completion of the call I called my supervisor SGT Summers to inform him of the
collision. I then returned to the scene of the collision to took for the Prius but it was no longer
there. I checked with ValleyCOM dispatch and they had not received any other calls about a
collision.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.
