Narrative
During this incident, )was equipped with a body-worn camera, which records both audio and video. Portions
of this incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not intended to be an
exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured with the recording system.
was operating a fully marked Police Tahoe#320 which was equipped with overhead emergency lights and
sirens.
Case Number 25-2730
On 03/26/2025 at approximately 1805 hours, I was dispatched to an unknown details accident at 710 Rainier
Ave S, within the City of Renton, King County, Washington.
I identified unit 1 in this collison as a 2022 Honda CRV(WA/Lic: GRYFNDR VIN#5J6RT6H83NL015958). I
identified the driver as Diana M Peckham (DOB 10/16/1972) and the rear passenger side passenger as Evan M
Peckham (DOB 09/27/2007). Unit 1 sustained minor damage to the front passenger side and was able to leave
under its own power.
I identified unit 2 as a 2020 Acura MDC(WA/Lic: CKW7957 Vin#5J8YD4H04LL025345). I identified the driver as
Katrina S Beckwith (DOB 07/14/1970) and the front pasenegr as Jeremy H Beckwith (DOB 03/04/1967). Unit 2
sustained minor damage to the driver side and was able to leave under its own power.
No parties reported any injures or requested aid.
Unit 1 advised me that she had fallen asleep and did not know what caused the collison. She continued to
explain how tired she has been, and she just needed sleep. I did not observe any signs or clues that would lead
me to believe she was under the influence of alcohol and or drugs.
Unit 2 advised that she was traveling northbound in the 700 block of Rainier Ave S in the middle lane. Unit 2
stated that Unit 1 just abruptly merged to the right, causing the passenger side of unit 2 to strike the driver
side of unit 1.
The proximate cause of this collison was unit 1 falling asleep. I gave her a verbal warning, explaining the
dangers of driving while tired.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.
