Index Ave NE Residential Access
Index Ave NE is classified as a residential access street. Existing ROW width in Index Ave NE
is approximately 50 feet. To meet the City's complete street standards for Residential Access
streets, a minimum ROW is 53 feet. Per City Code 4-6-60, half street improvements shall
include a pavement width of 26 feet (13 feet from centerline), a 0.5 foot curb, an 8-foot planting
strip, a 5-foot sidewalk, street trees and storm drainage improvements.
However, due to the proximity of the existing house to the existing ROW, the City would
consider a Modification Request to retain the curb line and reduce the planting strip from 8 feet
to 6.5 feet. A formal Modification Request and Fee-in-lieu request may be submitted for 2925
Index Ave NE. The fee-in-lieu will be charged at the rate indicated on the current fee schedule
at the time the fee is paid.
