On April 2, 2025, at approximately 1250 hours, I was dispatched to a hit a run collision involving a Renton
Police vehicle at Kidd Valley, 1201 Lake Washington Blvd N,within the City Limits of Renton, County of King,
State of Washington.
Upon my arrival I contacted Officer M. Walker, who reported that his police vehicle (Unit 2) bearing
Washington exempt plates 67632D was parked in the lot nearest to Kidd Valley when the collision occurred.
Officer Walker stated that his vehicle was unoccupied and parked in-between two disability stalls, when a
newer silver-colored sedan (Unit 1) entered the lot,though the north entrance, and collided with the rear
bumper of his vehicle.
After the collision occurred, Unit 1 fled the location and was last seen going southbound through Gene Coulon
Park.
Officer M. Walker said he intended to back his patrol vehicle to a portable police camera trailer when Unit 1
struck his vehicle. He was standing in the adjacent aisle with his back facing his patrol vehicle. He never saw
the driver of Unit 1.
Unit 2 sustained moderate damage to the rear bumper and Officer M. Walker believes Unit 1 sustained
damage to the front passenger fender and bumper.
Officer Walker reported the collision at 1250 hours, and (2) Flock cameras captured a silver-colored Kia
Optima bearing Washington plates BQW1300 at 1251 hours near the intersection of N Southport Dr and
Garden Ave N. Flock cameras showed that the Kia had damage to its front fender and bumper, and it appeared
to be a newer vehicle as Officer M.Walker described.After reviewing the photographs on Flock, I believe the
Kia Optima was involved due to the time and location of the vehicle.Also,the damage seen on the Kia Optima.
Dispatch advised that the Kia Optima returned stolen out of Bellevue under case number 25-17743.
There is no additional information.
Officer M. Walker said he would complete the City Property Form on SharePoint and photographs will be
attached to this police report.
