EF54795 CASE# 25-51 OF COLLISION 01/02/25 17:16 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE On December 5, 2025, at approximately 1716 hours, I was dispatched to a vehicle collision at the intersection of 108th Ave SE and SE 192nd St, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. Upon my arrival, I observed heavy mechanism to the involved vehicles. While on scene, I collected each of the involved party's driving information and their independent recollection of the events leading up to the collision. The driver of Unit 1 stated that she was the sole occupant of her vehicle and that prior to the collision she was traveling westbound in about the 10700 block of SE 192nd St and had recently passed the controlled intersection of 108th Ave SE in lane 1 of 1. The driver of Unit 1 had slowed to yield to traffic for the upcoming dentistry entrance (19221 108th Ave SE). The driver of Unit 1 stated she intended to turn south into the private parking lot from SE 192nd St. The driver of Unit 1 stated that eastbound traffic in the left turn lane created a gap for to enter, but as traversed across, she failed to see unit 2 traveling eastbound in the through lane. The driver of Unit 1 proceeded to make the left turn across the eastbound lanes of travel. While Unit 1 was turning, she noticed Unit 2 approach the same location. The driver of Unit 1 stated that both vehicles collided in the roadway causing significant damage to the front passenger side quarter panel and front bumper of Unit 1. The driver of Unit 2 said she was the sole occupant of her vehicle and was traveling eastbound in about the 10700 block of SE 192nd St approaching the controlled intersection of 108th Ave SE in lane 1 of 2. The driver of Unit 2 stated she was intending to continue east. The driver of Unit 2 stated as she continued going straight ahead, the driver of Unit 1 turn in front of her vehicle. The driver of Unit 2 stated she was unable to avoid the collision and both vehicles collided causing significant damage to the front of Unit 2. Based on the above statements, 1 determined that the Driver of Unit 1 is the proximate cause for the collision due to not granting the right of way during a left turn causing a collision. The driver of Unit 1 violated RCW 46.61.185(1) by being the driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection and not yielding the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard. The driver of Unit 1 did not grant the right of way to Unit 2 traveling in the roadway which had the right of way and was already underway. Due to Unit 1 having to traverse across oncoming traffic, the driver of Unit 1 must wait until the intersection is clear of hazard prior to proceeding. While collecting the unit 1's required documents, she stated that she was operating a vehicle without insurance. She was issued a section infraction for not having insurance.
