Unless otherwise noted,the following occurred in the City of Renton, County of King, WA.
On 4/17/2025 at about 1425 hours I responded to a collision at Main Ave S/S 3rd St.
I contacted the reporting party, identified by WA DOL photo as James A Leathley(DOB 4/21/1966), at the
Renton police station located at 1055 S Grady Way.
James advised the incident occurred at approximately 1345 hours and provided me with the involved parties
driving documents and his independent recollection of events leading up to the collision.
The driver of Unit#2 (James)said he was the sole occupant of the vehicle and that prior to the collision he was
driving south on Main Ave S in lane two.James advised he had a green light but was stopped behind another
vehicle who was waiting to turn left onto Houser Way S when he saw Unit#1 coming up behind him fast and
he was unable to move out of the way before Unit#1 struck the rear end of his vehicle.
I contacted the driver of Unit#1 (Florence)via phone. He advised that prior to the collision he was driving
south on Main Ave S approaching a green light at S 3rd St when Unit#2 stopped abruptly in front of him.
Florence said he was unable to brake fast enough and struck the back of Unit#2.
Both parties advised they did not sustain any injuries from the incident.
All involved parties exchanged information at the time of the collision, and I provided both parties with the
case number.
Both vehicles were driven safely off the roadway.
