EF71822 CASE# 25-1771 OF DATE AND r�N + 02/25/25 08:43 O�COLLISION NARRATIVE On 02/25/2025 at approximately 0843 hours, I was dispatched to a vehicle collision with reports of injury at the intersection of Duvall Ave NE and NE 4th St, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. Upon my arrival, I collected each of the involved party's driving information and their independent recollection of the events leading up to the collision. The driver of Unit 1, identified as Floriberto Mariscal Domingo, stated that he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and that prior to the collision she was traveling eastbound in about the 4800 block of NE 4th St approaching the entrance to QFC in the center turn lane. Floriberto had pulled into the left-turn lane and slowed to yield to traffic for the upcoming QFC entrance. Floriberto stated he intended to turn left, traverse across the 2 westbound lanes and the right turn lane, and into the QFC parking lot. The driver of Unit 1 stated that 2 vehicles in the westbound through lanes stopped and created a gap for unit 1 to traverse across. As planned, he proceeded across the westbound lanes but was struck by unit 2 which was going westbound in the right turn lane. Floriberto did not see unit 2. Unit 1 sustained moderate damage to the rear right quarter panel and wheel well. The driver of Unit 2, identified as Carl Lindgren, said he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was traveling westbound in about the 4800 block of NE 4th St approaching the controlled intersection of Duvall Ave NE in right turn lane. The driver of Unit 2 stated he was intending to make a right turn at the intersection and continue northbound on Duvall Ave NE. As he approached the entrance to QFC, he struck unit 1 which was crossing the right turn lane. The driver of Unit 2 stated he unable to avoid the collision and both vehicles collided causing significant damage to the front of Unit 2. Based on the above statements, I determined that the Driver of Unit 1 (Floriberto Mariscal Domingo) is the proximate cause for the collision due to not granting the right of way during a left turn causing a collision. The driver of Unit 1 violated RCW 46.61.185(1) by being the driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection and not yielding the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard. The driver of Unit 1 (Floriberto) did not grant the right of way to Unit 2 traveling in the roadway which had the right of way and was already underway. Due to Unit 1 having to traverse across oncoming traffic, the driver of Unit 1 must wait until the intersection is clear of hazard prior to proceeding. Both involved vehicles sustained moderate damage but were driven away by their owners. An exchange of information was provided to all involved parties. No citation. Information only.
