Duffy reports that he has played in this location previously and is confident that with a RMAC provided tent, the performers will be able to fill the space with music without being overwhelming. o Dragon Day celebration – budget will cover sound support, stages, performance fees o Concerts at Coulon – the ongoing relationship with the Parks Department will include artist recommendations, sound suggestions, funding support, and providing tents as needed. o Renton River Days - continuing relationship with Parks Department with artist recommendations, all aspects of production possibly including video; this is enhanced from previous years in a positive and requested direction o Olde-Halloween – same music support as 2024 o Small Business Saturday – same music support as 2024 ● While we are approving “bulk line items” in this budget, Duffy receives receipts from the Parks Department and artists so that any unused funds can be reallocated to another project ● Question: do we have any signage showing we are supporting musical performances at Parks Department events? ● Motion: Motion that the Commission accept the 2025 $30k Roadshow budget as shown on the screen (Sara Palmer) o Seconded: Jake Heare o Motion passes Renton Municipal Arts Commission City Hall, Council Conference Room (726) and Zoom Monthly Commission Meeting RMAC Meeting Notes | Page 3 Promotions Committee – Jake 7:01 pm ● Budget items o Monthly Art Lounge o Erasmus 6th Anniversary 4/13 o Sidewalk Chalk Event 7/26 o Artist Studio Tour 8/16 o Costume Swap 9/27 o Olde-Fashioned Halloween 10/25 o Small Business Saturday 11/29 o Tabling opportunities o Promotional items ● Motion (Sara Palmer): Motion that the Commission accepts the 2025 $35k budget as proposed by the Promotions Committee. o Seconded: Duffy Delgado o Motion passes Grants Committee – Susan 7:12 pm ● Upcoming deadline Friday 2/7 ● Q&A session at library was held on 1/30 had several visitors ● Please encourage applicants to review guidelines online and apply Metrics Committee – Sara 7:16 pm ● As discussed at the Retreat, the volunteer hours google form has been updated ● Gratitude for hours reported in 2024 (430 hours) but if Commissioners would like to still submit hours they can with the new form ● Jessie will continue send out monthly reminders to submit hours Old Business – Jessie 7:24 pm ● Jessie plans to debut a GIS dashboard at the March meeting of RMAC project and program statistics, volunteer hours, and other information (similar to our year end review page). Send any additional data display requests to Jessie. ● Artists Studio Tour teasers are gaining traction and Jessie is receiving more participant contacts ● Sunset Art Rebuild update: Parks Department approved the contract, one final review left ● 405 Gateway project update: moving forward despite federal funding concerns; infrastructure with lighting will go in this year, leading to future art opportunities in the area New Business – Jessie 7:39 ● New Renton City website launched Monday o Jessie no longer has control over RMAC pages Renton Municipal Arts Commission City Hall, Council Conference Room (726) and Zoom Monthly Commission Meeting RMAC Meeting Notes | Page 4 o Grant links, forms fixed; please help review all links and let Jessie know if any broken links o Focus more on social media for event promotions going forward ● Utility box wrap opportunity: The mural on Bank of America has been delayed, and Renton Downtown Partnership offered to pay the artist fees to use their art to wrap the two small utility boxes nearby while the mural project is paused. o Motion (Jake Heare): Move to approve the $2,821.00 cost to wrap the two small utility boxes near the Bank of America as requested by Renton Downtown Partnership to support the artist.
