That mean we $59,175 left to spend for the year. (Again that is assuming we will be granted the full request for the carryforward. The adjustment if approved will be reflected in the budget in Q2. • 4Cutlture funding through the Sustained Support grant earmarked for the Paint with Purpose; graffiti abatement mural program • Capital Arts Funding for permanent art installations also available in 2025 (approximately $15,000 each year) • Discussion regarding on how to forecast budget on known events such as chalk 2025 or dragon 2026 through partner support; example Allied Arts to purchase chalk Committee Updates Promotions Updates: • Dragon Event (April 13): o Eggs are ready to be hidden; window decoration competition fliers shared Renton Municipal Arts Commission City Hall, Council Conference Room (726) and Zoom Monthly Commission Meeting RMAC Meeting Notes | Page 2 o Event starts at 7 AM, featuring Scribe’s Hollow (literary tent), Artist’s Alcove (community booths with arts activities and demonstrations), and Adventurer’s Guild (gaming den at Delancey’s) o Final application deadline for artists and performers: March 30 (Call for performers – Dragon’s Landing Celebration) and Call for vendors – Dragon’s Landing Celebration o Jessie presented a draft event sticker o Treasure Hunt begins April 5 – participants are encouraged to sign up to receive clues and event notifications. Registration form is available online • Art in Motion: Renton Artist Studio Tour (August 16) o Info session at Britt Greenland Studio: April 23 at 6 PM o Application deadline: April 30 Application for Art in Motion: Renton Studio Tour • Renton Art Lounge – March 19 at Bloom Studios • Merchandise Discussion: o T-shirts, enamel pins, and badge kit (Avery 3”x4” 74459) presented by Sara o Need additional support for creation, management, and sales Roadshow • Call open for farmers market buskers - - Call for performers – Renton Farmers Market Metrics • City Volunteer Program: Parks and Recreation Department will now track commission member hours. Forms will be distributed at each monthly meeting for members to log hours from the previous month. • Dashboard Development: A new dashboard is in progress to track key data, including volunteer hours, grant numbers, and event attendance. • Dragon Days Metrics: o Event visits increased 51.7% year-over-year (2023-2024) and 80.5% over the past three years. o 2023 Attendance: 3,500 visitors, with an average dwell time of 57 minutes (Placer report). o Growth Since 2019: From 543 attendees in 2019 to present, reflecting a 555% increase. Grants • 2025 (Round 2) Grant Funding Recommendations: o Family First Community Center – Arts & Creativity Program ($10,000) o Renton Civic Theatre – Artist Stipends for Equity & Sustainability ($10,000) o Sustainable Renton – Sustainable Expressions: Art, Education & Community ($9,000) o Tabitha Blackburn Art – Cugini Florist Dragon Mural ($6,000) o Fem Allies in Business (FAB) – The Art of Bowl & Basket Making ($3,297) o KLRKAT Productions – Downtown Renton Music Video Tribute ($1,800) Renton Municipal Arts Commission City Hall, Council Conference Room (726) and Zoom Monthly Commission Meeting RMAC Meeting Notes | Page 3 o Renton LGBTQIA+ Community – Renton Pride ($1,118) o Fairwood Community Group – Fairwood Night Market ($1,000) o Total Recommended Funding: $54,715 No vote due to lack of quorum. Selection Committee • 15 interviews conducted in February, Committee recommends to the Mayor for approval (with two in reserve). o Alycia Ruiz o Brooke Ciquera o Sujata Acharya Old business • Bloom Studios Update: o Lease signed; referred to Finance Committee, meeting on 3/24. o Bloom planned a soft opening on 3/20; Jessie asked legal if RMAC can host the event ceremonially. New Business: • Look, Listen, Learn invited RMAC to participate in their 2025 event on May 17, 2-5 PM at the Community Center. • Special meeting scheduled for March 11 at 6 PM (Zoom) to vote on grants and selection committee recommendations.
