Subject: Napoli Pier repair
Dear Alex:
Giovanni and Cheryle Napoli would like to repair their existing pier and covered
moorage. The site is a 24,115 sq. ft. single-family residential use parcel located at 3111
Mountain View Ave, N, parcel #334210-3860. The site and adjacent properties are zoned
R-8 and located along the shoreline of Lake Washington. The existing shoreline consists
of a wooden sheet pile bulkhead with a concrete cap along the shoreline. The lakebed
consists of sand and gravel. Drainage conditions are not applicable to this project. There
will not be any change to the existing use of the property. The scope of the project entails
the repair of existing piling as needed by sleeving with HDPE pipe and filling with
concrete, The existing caps and stringers will be repaired as needed. The solid wood
plank decking will be replaced with Titan series-X grated decking with 46% open space.
The metal roofing of the covered moorage will be replaced with new standing seam
metal. The existing support and substructure of the covered moorage will remain in
place; only the metal roofing will be replaced. The time to complete the repair of the pier
and roof is ten (10) to fifteen (15) days. No job shack is needed. No off site
improvements, excavation or fill are proposed for this project. No trees are to be
removed, no land will be dedicated to the city, and no modifications are requested. No
existing residential units will have an obstructed view because of this project. The
project qualifies for a Letter of Exemption from a Shoreline Substantial Development
Permit under WAC 173-27-040 (2) (b) - Normal repair and maintenance.
