Unless otherwise noted,the following occurred in the City of Renton, County of King,WA.
On 04-22-2025 at approximately 1900 hours I was at a stale red light facing southbound at Rainier Ave S/
S 3rd St.To my east was Safeway(200 S 3rd St).As I was at the red light, I heard sounds of a vehicle
collision.When I was able to make the turn to go east bound on S 3rd St, I found two vehicles had
collided at the gas pumps.
Unit 1 was in front of unit 2 and the registered owner/driver stated he had some sort of vehicle
malfunction. Due to the malfunction,the vehicle drove backwards into unit 2 who was behind unit 1 in
Line for the gas pumps. Unit 1 was drivable. Unit 2 was not drivable as there were leaking fluids.The
registered owner/driver of unit 2 did not request a tow, and stated he would move it into a parking spot.
No injuries were reported, and no airbags were deployed.The involved parties exchanged their own
information on scene.
I provided both parties with the case number.
During this incident it is likely my in-car camera and/or body-worn camera was recording audio and
video.This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not intended to be an exact transcription of
the entire investigation or what may have been captured with the recording system.
