EF76514 CASE# 25-2379 OF DATE AND r�N + 03/17/25 09:00 O�COLLISION NARRATIVE 25-2379 On 03/17/2025 at approximately 0920 hours, I was working as a Police Officer for the city of Renton. While I was working, I was dispatched to a blocking collision at the intersection of Sunset Blvd N and southbound 1405, in the city of Renton, the county of King, state of Washington. This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not necessarily an exact sequence of events. Statements have been paraphrased and summarized. My involvement in this incident was captured on my department issued Axon body camera. For exact statements made during my investigation please see my Axon camera footage. During this investigation I was wearing a fully marked police uniform with badge and patches. I was also wearing an external vest with police patches on the front and back. I was driving a fully marked police vehicle with police decals on the side and red and blue emergency lights. According to the notes in the call, there was a two-vehicle collision. There were no injuries and the collision was blocking Sunset and the on ramp to southbound 1405. It was later determined that it was blocking the on ramp to northbound 1405. Unit 1 was identified as a gray 2006 Toyota Highlander SUV (WA LIC# BZN5605). Unit 2 was identified as a tan 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV (WA LIC# CJR1596). 1 arrived on scene around 0928 hours and located the two vehicles. I spoke to the driver of each vehicle. The driver of unit 1 was identified as Yolanda R Soto De Morales (DOB 05/28/1971). Her identity was confirmed by WADOL photo. She stated that there were no injuries, and she did not need medical attention. She stated she was driving south along NE Sunset Blvd and collided with the back end of Unit 2 because he did not yield before crossing the southbound lanes of traffic as he went from northbound NE Sunset Blvd to the onramp of northbound 1405. The driver of unit 2 was identified as Luis Alberto J Lucas Acuchi (DOB 04/17/1992). His identity was confirmed by WADOL photo. He stated that there were no injuries, and he did not need medical attention. He stated that he was turning from northbound NE Sunset Blvd to the 1405 northbound onramp when unit 1 collided with the backend of his vehicle. He stated that she was speeding and should not have hit him as he was almost across the intersection when the collision took place. The damage was consistent with each driver's statements regarding the incident. Both parties were not able to provide me with insurance information. The driver of unit 2 stated that the car was not his and belonged to a friend of his. He was not sure if his friend had insurance or not. The driver of unit 1 stated that she did not have insurance. Both drivers had a valid driver's license. Both parties were provided with an exchange of information and the drivers were encouraged to workout the incident if they could. Neither vehicle required a tow and left the scene after they were provided with the exchange of information. At this point in time, 1 am not able to say with 100% certainty which driver was at fault.
