EF77041 CASE# 25-2682 OF DATE AND r�N + 03/25/25 12:53 O�COLLISION NARRATIVE rear under way RTF Within the city limits of Renton/King/Wa I responded to a reported hit and run crash at the intersection of 108th Ave SE at Benson Rd S. When I arrived I located unit 2 driver on the shoulder of Benson Rd S. He had minor damage to his vehicle and was walking around. He told me he wanted to be checked by the Fire Dept. They arrived on scene, checked him and released him on scene in short order. Unit 2 told me he was visitig family in a near by family. He said unit 1 pulled up behind him at SE 172nd at Benson Rd S and began to honk at his vehicle. He said he made his right turn and so did unit 1 without stopping just followed him through the intersection still honking, He told me unit 1 was tailgating and so he slowed to avoid additional traffic safety issues and that as he did he was hit from behind by unit 1. Damages to his vehicle was minimal and did not require a tow truck. A witness told me she observed unit 2 make a right turn onto Benson Rd S with unit 1 following and honking at him. She was at a bit of a distance but said she heard the two vehicles contact. She also said unit 1 and 2 were outside their vehicles and that unit 1 was using her middle finger and profanity. She couildnt provide additional details as to what led up to and what happened during the immediate exchange between unit 1 and 2. 1 contacted unit 1 at her home. She told me she noticed her dog escaped from her new residence. She said she was on 106th Ave SE near her home in her car, that she forgot her license and phone which share the same contanier/carrier/pouch. Unit 1 said unit 1 sped by her location while her door was open and she was calling for her run away dog. She said unit 2 speed upset her and as she continued to look for her dog she came upon unit 2. In frustration she honked at him, still mad he sped by her. She continued in the same direction as unit 2. Unit 2 admitted to honking, being mad, forgetting her cell and license, but was emphatic that she did not ram unit 2. Sh3e said unit 2 suddenly locked up his brakes and she was unable to respond and bumped in the back of him. She told me she did Bove him the finger and yelled the F word, but also said she tried to provide her name address etc but unit 2 refused to take it. She told me she was franctic about her lost dog and told others her address and she was leaving to find her dog. Unit 1 told me she believed trying to provide her info and telling others her name and address was sufficiant and went to look for her dog. She recently moved into the area and didnt want to lose her dog. Based on the conflicting stories, lack of damage to either vehicle, precationary check on unit 2/lack of obvious injury this was be for information/insurance only. Nothing further.
