EF81242 CASE# 25-3078 OF COLLISION 04/06/25 02:50 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE On 04/06/2025, 1 was working uniformed patrol in a marked police car as 3R23. At approximately 0250 hours, officers were dispatched to an unknown injury accident at 671 Bremerton Ave NE, which is located within the city limits of Renton, County of King, Washington. Dispatch advised that a witness who heard the accident occur had reported that an unknown vehicle had crashed into a tree. As I was driving to the call, dispatch updated officers that they had also just received an iPhone crash notification from around the same area. Dispatch noted that they could hear a male and female voice in the background talking, but not in English. When I arrived at the dispatch location, I was able to locate the collision just east of Bremerton Ave NE/NE 7th St. I saw that there was a single vehicle that was facing northbound on Bremerton Ave NE that had collided with a tree on the eastern sidewalk. I was able to identify the sole involved vehicle in this collision as listed above (Unit 1). 1 was also able to identify the driver and front passenger as also listed above. I was able to speak to the driver of Unit 1. My conversation with her is summarized as follows: Unit 1 stated she was headed northbound on Bremerton Ave NE, approaching NE 7th St. She stated that she was temporarily distracted by her phone because she had attempted to fix her navigation system. This resulted in her eyes temporarily off the roadway which subsequently led to the front end of Unit 1 striking a tree just east of Bremerton Ave NE/NE 7th St. I also spoke to Unit 1's front passenger. He also reported a similar story as the driver described above. It should be noted that Bremerton Ave NE from around NE 4th St to where the collision occurred, the road is bendy as it passes through a semi-residential neighborhood. The roadway they were on was also dark with limited ambient lighting. I took a look around Unit 1. 1 noticed that the entire front end of the vehicle was damaged. Parts of the front bumper were broken and hanging off. I also saw that parts of the front end of the vehicle were broken and in the middle of the roadway and the nearby east sidewalk. I also saw that all the front airbags inside the vehicle had been deployed. I also took a look at the nearby tree. The tree appeared to be relatively undamaged with some of the tree bark falling out. Unit 1's driver stated that she was uninjured as a result of the collision. She also stated that she was wearing her seatbelt. Unit 1's front passenger also stated that he was uninjured as a result of the collision. He also stated that he was wearing his seatbelt. Bankers Tow eventually arrived and took possession of Unit 1. Other officers at the location attempted to contact the reporting original party over the phone to no avail. Other officers also took photos of the collision and uploaded them to Evidence.com to be added to the case file. Unit 1's driver and passenger stated they had called a rideshare driver and were left at the scene of PAGE 3 OF 5 REPORT NO.
