THE CONTRACT IS MODIFIED AS FOLLOWS:
Description of Change:
The Contractor shall construct concrete dead-man blocks in conformance with the attached
City of Renton Standard Plan 330.4 Concrete Deadman Block.
Proposal Schedule of Prices:

39-845 -Reinforcing Steel in Concrete Dead-man Blocks, 1 EST@ $7,000.00 = $7,000.00

Materials:
ADD the following section to SP 7-09.2:
Reinforcing Steel 9-07
Measurement:
ADD the following to 7-09.4:
"Reinforcing Steel in Concrete Dead-man Blocks," will be measured by force account for
all labor and materials necessary to construct the reinforcing steel in conformance with
the attached City of Renton Standard Plan 330.4 Concrete Dead man Block.
Payment:
ADD the following to 7-09.5:
"Reinforcing Steel in Concrete Dead-man Blocks," by force account.
Plans:
None.
Reason for Change:
The Contract documents did not include details for constructing dead-man blocks. Upon the
Contractor's request, the City provided construction details that included reinforcing steel.
The inclusion of reinforcing steel is an extra cost, as the Contract did not specify these
details and the Contractor could not have anticipated them at the time of bidding.

Please see the attached detail titled "Concrete Deodmon Block" to use when sizing Cone Dead-Mon Blocks as specified by the Water Pion on Sheets 121 -
130.
This work will be paid using Bid Item No. B16 -Concrete for Thrust Blocking and Dead-Man Anchor Block.
