At approximately 1802 hours, I was dispatched to an unknown injury collision at the intersection of Duvall Ave NE/NE 7th PI, which is located within the city limits of Renton, County of King, Washington. Dispatch advised that a passerby called reporting that a white Tesla had been in a collision and was now up on the sidewalk partially blocking the northbound lanes. The caller was not sure if the driver of the Tesla was injured. When I arrived at the dispatch location, I located and identified Unit 1 as described above around the 600 block of Duvall Ave NE. Unit 1 was indeed up on the easternmost sidewalk, partially in the nearby bushes and partially blocking the #1 lane of northbound Duvall Ave NE I also was able to identify the driver of Unit 1 as described above. The driver was outside of his vehicle walking around. My conversation with the driver of Unit 1 is summarized as follows: Unit 1 stated he was driving northbound on Duvall Ave NE. Unit 1 had indicated he had driven over a nearby patch of standing water and hydroplaned. Unit 1 had then spun out and crashed nearby in the bushes. When I asked Unit 1 why he did not call 911, he stated that he called his dad first because he was unsure of what to do. Unit 1's vehicle had a running dash camera at the time of the incident. I took a look at the video which depicted the following: I saw that Unit 1 was traveling northbound around the 500/600 block of Duvall Ave NE in the #2 lane. Unit 1 changes lanes from lane #2 to lane #1 around the entrance to Forest Grove Apartments located at 650 Duvall Ave NE. I then noticed that Unit 1 began to spin out before the front end of the Tesla impacted the easternmost sidewalk and slid into the nearby foliage. Unit 1 then came to rest with the front end of Unit 1 facing perpendicular to lane #1 of Duvall Ave NE. I took a look around Unit 1. 1 saw that the rear end of the vehicle was partially stuck in some of the foliage. I also saw that the entire front end of the vehicle was dented inward with the bumper slightly falling off. I also saw that no airbags appeared to have been deployed. I also did a quick look around the area of the collision. It did not appear there were any other structures damaged as a result of the collision. It should be noted that at the time of the collision, the conditions outside were rainy, wet, and slick. This roadway is also a main throughway and is usually busy with vehicular traffic at around this time of day. It did not appear from the dash cam footage that Unit 1 stuck any other vehicles. Unit 1 stated that he was uninjured as a result of the collision. Gene Meyer eventually arrived and took possession of the vehicle as the vehicle was undrivable. Unit 1 was able to leave the location under his own power being picked up by his parents. This report is for informational purposes only to document the incident. This completes my report.
